Freekee fizzy milk to offer "smoother drinking sensation"
Posted: 16:45 Wed 05-02-2003
The Dairy Reporter, er, reports that Britvic are launching what is widely believed to be the "Holy Grail" of soft beverages - a fizzy milk drink. Initially available in two reassuringly-named flavours, "Strange Strawberry" and "Odd Orange", Britvic claim that it will offer a "smoother drinking sensation" - ie, smoother than traditional Colas, one assumes. Disregarding my own inconclusive experiments with a Soda Stream in the late 1980s, this is almost certainly the first carbonated milk to be widely available in the UK - and if anyone can pull it off, it ought to be Britvic, the folks behind the "Feel The Frozen Fizz" carbonated Slush Puppy rival, Ice Blast.

Comment: Did anyone ever try putting milk in a Soda Stream? I seem to remember the instructions specifically telling you not to, but what happened if you did? Did it explode or just produce lots of fizzy cheese?

Comment: I'm glad to know that I am not the only person to ever experiment with milk in the sodastream. :)

It tastes terrible.

Comment: I tried the Odd Orange one over the weekend and it was wonderful. Brought back blissful memories of orange Cresta. If you liked Cresta, you'll love this! Can't wait to try a Strawberry one.

Comment: Fizzy milk is quite possibly the future. Tried and tested in the late 1980's - An interesting taste, not without it's merits. 17887 4 63
