Click pic to view comments Confirmed sighting: Walkers Great British Takeaways crisps
Posted: 19:28 Tue 15-07-2003. Price: 35p (ish). Location: North Pole Post Office, London W10. Sub-flavours: Chicken Tikka Masala, Chinese BBQ Spare Rib, Sweet and Sour.
"Nathaniel Cramp" reports: The packets have little pictures of brown paper bags for that real takeaway feel. For added realism they should've made sure there was some greasy substance dripping out of the bottom and all down your trouser leg, or is that just me?

...Pretty much a tie here in fact between "Nathaniel" and "Rex", who elaborated: The Chicken Tikka Masala is a revelation - streets ahead of every other curry crisp in history. Chicken first, exotic spices next, a hint of coconut to top it off. Beautiful. Spare Rib is almost as good - bit like the Spare Rib Sensations crackers. Sweet and Sour is a poor man's Tomato Sauce and should be discontinued immediately. Other crispy highlights to look out for include: Gary Lineker appearing "on the Patrick Kielty show on 24th July"; McCoy's launching a Spice Sizzling Beef variety; Ryvita entering the rice cake sector with a product called Tondo's; and, without wanting to sound like someone who's just got back from the US, Guacamole-flavoured crisps are all the rage over there.

Comment: Damn, forgot to link back to previous discussion on this topic, wherein "bob" and "Alex" propose alternative takeaway flavours such as chip butty, jellied eels and "donar kebba": http://www.snackspot.org.uk/thread.php?story=0306302304sbc#20030708201200

Comment: Scandalous lies. Sweet'n'Sour are lovely. Though eerily reminiscent of Baked Bean.

Comment: Chiken Tikka Masala flavour a revelation? That's a larf.. they taste like standard chicken crisps that've been left open near a (completely sealed) set of curry spices.

I'm hoping the sweet 'n' sour ones are better.
