Click pic to view comments International sighting: Snapple A Day meal replacement drink
Posted: 14:32 Mon 28-07-2003. Price: about $2-3?. Location: 7-11, California. Sub-flavours: Peach, Strawberry Banana, Tropical Blend. Nutritional unusualness: Contains "24 essential vitamins and minerals".
Snackspot reports: almost at the end of this batch of "international sightings", but always interesting to see Snapple moving away from its traditional heartland of an "iced cup of tea and a sit down". As Bevnet's review points out, these are essentially nutrient-packed fruit (and carrot) smoothies, though without the banana component that usually entails. The "meal replacement" claim is slightly trickier to assess, though the drink is much nicer than (in my experience) taking the ingredients of a typical midday meal and feeding them through a liquidiser.

...Dairy remains a growth area in the US, with the recent relaunch of Coca-Cola's Swerve canned milk drink (available in Chocolate, Vanana, and Blooo), and new carbonated milk drink Emoo (available in "Mooberry" and "Bubble gum"). Over here we must make do with the strawberry and chocolate versions of Nestle's Nesquik Fresh, if that's not a contradiction in terms.

Comment: Yah I've had these. First thing is the drink cap has a oily residue and the liquid vitimins sort of stick to the top. That proves that it has extra junk in it. Shake it up, swallow it down, and it's no tastier than a fruity agar and carrageenan shake with vitimins crunched up in it. Not horrible, not extremely palatable either. Drink it when you feel nutritionally deficient.

Comment: It's not bad, it feels a tad bit thick or chalky in texture when swallowing. All in all, I could stand drinking one for lunch and maybe again before bed. 98948 9 64
