Click pic to view comments Confirmed sighting: KP Cheese Toastie Hula Hoops
Posted: 12:33 Mon 18-08-2003. Price: 35p. Location: Local Newsagents, Norwich. Sub-flavours: Original, Barbecue Beef, Salt and Vinegar, Bacon and Ketchup.
"Ade Jordan" reports: I seem to recall cheese flavour Hula Hoops from a few years back, and these are a welcome (re)addition to the Hula Hoops range. They have a nice strong cheese flavour which is evenly coated, and they also appear crunchier than your standard Hula Hoop. Up there with Salt and Vinegar and Barbeque Beef in my books!

...One of "two exciting new products" in the Hula Hoop range, the other one presumably being Bacon and Ketchup flavour. As JT previously pointed out, this week's new flavour from Walkers is the Leicester's Cheese & Chive variant only available in the Leicestershire area, while we still haven't had any confirmed sightings of Jacob's Tempting Tandoori, Passionately Pizza or Blazing BBQ JacoBites crackers, or indeed any Snack-a-Jack Spudz.

Comment: well, bob did say he went to New York, but as he hates international sightings, its unlikely he'd bring anything back.

I agree, the lack of punctuation and all his unconfirmed sightings are suspicious

Comment: perhaps its a conspiracy, and he'll come back tomorrow, content in the fact that people remembered him.

JT is an alias of bob, and he's secretly trying to get people to talk about him

Comment: I believe JT IS the new, slightly more helpful "bob". It's all there - the incredibly poor spelling and grammar, the outlandish and contradictory statements, and the scattergun approach to snack sightings. Any snack you mention, "JT" or "bob" had already seen it on special for 87p at Asda. I preferred "bob" - he had a refreshingly blinkered view of the world.

Comment: I think "JT" and "bob" are more conceptual collective folk figures rather than actual physical manifestations. Anyway, what's the link to the eBay auction where these went for £128.60?

Comment: You see JT makes these outrageous claims, which then often turn out to be right.

Still, though - £132.00 for a bag of crisps. If "dsector" read Snackspot he could save himself a fortune...

Comment: try looking at the top of the page Neil, where it says "Hula Hoops (new flavour not in shops!!!)" http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2339770424

(and they're missing you, JT, you big lummox!)

Posted: 20:31 Tue 19-08-2003 by "Neil" # permalink comment
Comment: I know, but there's a difference between "not in shops" and "[they'll] never be out in the shops"! The former implies that they could (and presumably will) be in shops in the near future.

Comment: Ah, yes, fair point Neil. Still - someone bending the truth on an ebay description, whatever will they think of next?

(seriously, i bet the seller never collects their 100 quid either, unless more experienced ebay users know how it might extract money from possible spoof bidders?)

Bob, the lime and lemon coke is really nice. It is more limey than lemony, which makes a nice change. Pop down to Asda with 44p and buy some!

Nestlé rowntrees orange kit kat

Nestlé rowntrees milky bar with cookies

Mars orange twix

Comment: Just had a "Milkybar Milk & Cookies" (Milkybar is one word, like isobar) basically a milkybar mixed with what look like little balls of Oreo (but crispier).

The disturbing thing is that the cookie is just below the surface of the chocolate, and viewed through the slightly translucent white chocolate, the cookie appears to be BLUE.

The effect is of a chunky milkybar covered in faint blue spots, giving the distinct (and unfortunate) impression it's a culture of some kind.

Have any of you ever heard of or seen the Hula Hoops that were like smiley faces that you cook in the oven? I had them years ago and they just disappeared but they were particularly scrummy and I wouldn't mind getting my hands on some! 12758 8
