Click pic to view comments International sighting: White Chocolate M and M's
Posted: 13:16 Tue 14-10-2003. Price: $AU1.30. Location: Melbourne, Australia. Sub-flavours: Normal M&M's. Nutritional unusualness: White Chocolate contains a minimum of 22% cocoa solids and 30% milk solids.
"Adrian" reports: Not sure if anyone's seen these yet, but they've just arrived in Australia, so I thought I'd give them a burl. Given that everyone knows what M&M's are and what they are like, the only thing in this review that really matters is if the white chocolate is any good. I found it quite awful - the faint taste of vomit is not faint at all, and is actually quite overpowering, so much so that I didn't finish the packet. I like M&M's - the plain, the peanut, the peanut butter, the crispies, the minis, but I don't like these.

...Adrian was equally unimpressed by an in-flight Tim Tam Wafer he recently consumed, remarking: I had this on a flight from Bali to Australia. It's quite long and thin and I was looking forward to it as I like Tim Tams, but this was very disappointing. It was nothing like a Tim Tam at all, and the wafer made it very bland. A completely pointless addition to the Tim Tam range. But, on a more positive note, word is that we here in the UK may soon be enjoying more cakes based around Nestle Rolos, Nestle Milky Bar and Cadbury's White Chocolate Dream.

Comment: I too have tried the White MMs and was also unimpressed. I am a keen lover of White Chocolate and also plain MMs, so naturally I thought you couldn't go wrong with the White MMs. But somehow they did go wrong. The problem with all of these chocolates that are appearing in White eg twirl, flake, etc is the quality of the white chocolate. The companies are using cheap, white, vomit tasting chocolate. Put some decent white chocolate inside an MM shell an you truely would have a good thing going. MMMMMM belgium white chocolate would be good.

Comment: Do you have the Cadbury Dream flavoured milk in the UK?

Comment: Actually I have just tried some of these and although on first taste, they did taste of vomit, after a few I soon forgot this and enjoyed them. I dont normally like M & M's, but these were a lot sweeter and nicer than the normal ones. Masterfoods just need to develop a white chocolate to rival the white chocolate kings Nestle Milkybar, and close second Cadbury Dream. Once they have that, they can make a good start on white chocolate products. I do hope Masterfoods bring out white M & M's in the UK as I would deffinately buy them. Although when I wrote to Masterfoods UK recently, they denied any knowledge that white M & M's existed.

Comment: I know this has nothing to do with the white chocolate flavor (I'm not much for white chocolate anyway lol) but a few years back they released a chocolate mint M&M one Easter that was just awesome. I have yet to see them again. Does anyone know if they still make them somewhere and if you might be able to order them?
