Click pic to view comments Confirmed sighting: McCowan's Fizzz Brix!
Posted: 23:11 Tue 21-10-2003. Price: 5p/ packet. Location: Booker cash'n'carry, Bath. Sub-flavours: Strawberry, lemon, orange and raspberry. Nutritional unusualness: Magnesium stearate, E470b, maltodextrin, flavouring, colours E104, E110, E124.
"Stuart Campbell" reports: At last, the UK's premier producer of sugar-packed kiddy treats has tackled the hegemony of Pez in the "tiny chalky sweets inexplicably modelled after bricks" market with these fizzy little hyperactivity pellets. Hard as it is to imagine, they're even more brashly-flavoured than Swizzells' ancient and venerable Fizzers, with the texture of old cement (brittle on the outside, crumbling to gritty dust when breached), and should ensure the destruction of the nation's bus shelters for years to come.

...As if to support Stuart's warning, the only other mention of these I can currently find in the whole of Google is the website of artists Mark And Dave (caution: embedded audio), who advocate the consumption of "Fizzz Brix and milk", though hopefully not together. What with this and Funjunkie's recent sighting of Wrigley's Airwaves Vapour Release Cherry Menthol Sugarfree gum, surely there's no need for our nation's pop stars to be fighting over the price of non-complimentary toilet lollipops any more?

Comment: We apologise that your Fizz Brixs were out of date. Please take them back to the shop from which they were bought, and collect a free cheque for £1,000 with our regards. Alternatively, check the date before purchase, that normally works.
