Click pic to view comments Confirmed sighting: Nestle Sveltesse
Posted: 12:05 Mon 01-12-2003. Price: 1.39 for pack of 4 (buy one get one free!). Location: Waitrose, North London. Sub-flavours: Strawberry/ Wild Strawberry; Blackberry/ Wild Blueberry; Lemon Meringue/ Red Fruits Crumble Style. Nutritional unusualness: All "0%" fat content except "0.7%" stated for Lemon Meringue/ Red Fruits Crumble Style.
Snackspot reports: Wasn't too sure whether I should recommend these new "fat free yoghurts" to regular spotter "Stuart Campbell" - on one hand, I know he likes strawberries (and these are one of the few products to offer both "Strawberry" and "Wild Strawberry" options), though on the other, I know he dislikes the taste of artificial sweeteners, which are particularly evident in the "Lemon Meringue/ Red Fruits Crumble Style". But if you can avoid that last one, the others do seem to contain unusually large pieces of actual fruit - and, unlike many "low fat" products, they're sufficiently artificial to put you off having "just another one".

...Oh and they're controversially advertised on TV to the tune of "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred, a song I always wanted to write an Onion-style spoof news report about: You Can Be "Too Sexy", Doctors Warn - In a study released today, researchers revealed the debilitating effects of excessive sexiness, including patients who complained of being "too sexy for their shirts", "so sexy it hurts", and unable to use traditional means of automotive transport. Too sexy for their cars? "Too sexy by far", a spokesman confirmed.

Comment: What does Sveltesse mean in English?

I've got some Cactus flavour Liquorice from Denmark..does Cactus mean anything, or is it still the plant?

Comment: It means something like "Slenderness", according to this Google-translated page: http://[URL display truncated]

- which is why the pregnant feminists objected to it: http://pub62.ezboard.com/ffeministparentsfrm28.showMessage?topicID=55.topic

Dunno what else "Cactus" might mean - if you had a liquorice-flavoured cactus, then I'd be impressed...

Comment: The Sveltesse 0.2% fat yoghurts are absolutely fabulous!!! How do you do it? We really thought we were eating lemon cheesecakes and today, well the apricot tart just blew us away ....! As for the summer fruits crumble we had to pinch ourselves to believe it was real, yummmmm. Keep up the good stuff xx

Comment: funnily enough, we do make these ones "Matthew" - though we haven't got round to taste-testing the slightly sinisterly titled new "apricot tart-style" yet...

Comment: A few weeks ago I tried the sveltesse yoghurt with the lemon pie taste. Let me tell ya, those are GOOOOOOOOOODD!!! How come we can't get them seperatly from the others in Belgium? This is my absolute favorite and I've heard the same thing from several of my friends. Something for the (NEAR) future?

Comment: Are these vegetarian? My husband just put the packaging on the aga and I don't want fifteen years of avoiding geletine to go to hell in a handbasket (or yoghurt pot!).

ThanQ!
