Click pic to view comments Confirmed sighting: Bacardi Coomira Coast Chardonnay Spritzer
Posted: 10:52 Wed 24-12-2003. Price: RRP 1.39/ 275ml bottle. Location: Sainsbury's, London NW3. Nutritional unusualness: A blend of New World Chardonnay Wine, Sparkling Water and Blackcurrant, Blueberry and Cranberry Flavours.
Snackspot reports: Looking for something a little "different" to put in the mulled wine this year? Well, this'd give your guests plenty to "mull" over (clever wording, I know, cheers), as it tastes just like white wine mixed with the still-elusive Pepsi Blue. Combining blackcurrant, blueberry *and* cranberry flavours maybe wasn't the best idea, either - I mean, what's wrong with mixing red wine with lemonade?

...Anyway, just a quick note to say Snackspot will be updated even more erratically over the Christmas period, but return to your regularly scheduled service in the New Year. Until then, let's raise a flagon of Bacardi Breezer Diet Orange and Vanilla, the revolting-sounding Vodka Lager Red Square (based on "consumers' actual behavior" in clubs, apparently) - or, for the youngsters, how about Ocean Spray's new "less tart" White Cranberry juices? - and toast a Happy Festivus to you, one and all!

Comment: And with the Lager Red Square we will endure more Avid Merrion adverts.

Perhaps he'll bring his celabrities[sic] friends

Comment: I presume the vodka lager Red Square is just an attempt to bottle 'turbo' or 'power' shandies, where you buy a bottle of Stella and a bottle of Smirnoff Black ice, mix in a pint glass and drink something fairly strong as though it were pop. Is actually nicer than it sounds and as it normally costs about four quid a pint, a decent bottled version may well be a good thing.

Comment: The lager Red Square is out, currently in stock at Asda.

I would give my comments, but I'm underage.

Comment: Had a couple Lager Red Squares the other day. Aroma kind of similar to body odour, but the taste was actually rather nice, like a pretty good lager shandy, with a bit more 'oomph' - will buy again. 48804 3
