Click pic to view comments Confirmed sighting: Ski StopGap 24/7
Posted: 23:18 Wed 07-01-2004. Price: 79p Trial Price (usually 99p). Location: Tesco, Wrexham. Sub-flavours: Berry Mix; Tropical; Honey and Banana. Nutritional unusualness: It's a drink with cereal in it.
"Daniel Thornton" reports: Yet another addition to the seemingly never ending deluge of yogurt/ milk drinks. Noteworthy not only for the worrying sounding addition of cereal, but also for the fact that apple for once does not take a backseat. The yogurt is full of chunks of the fruit. There's no noticeable wheat or oat flavour, hardly surprising as together they account for only 0.8% of the ingredients. Packaging claims that it can "bridge the hunger gap anytime throughout the day" - so far unproven as, well come on, it's only 250g of yogurt. Nor am I entirely certain as to the validity of it being a "convenient snack" as they also claim. "Keep Refrigerated", it says. But what if you're a travelling salesman? Do you have a fridge in your car? How's that "convenient"? Tsk. (It is nice though.)

...In other dairy-related dalliances: BevNet is starting the new year with a glass of Cocio Chocolate Milk Vanilla and hip-hopper Lil' Jon's Crunk!! Energy Drink (how long before we see a proper fizzy breakfast soda?); I've seen (but not had the chance to sample) Nurishment in what look like new TetraPak cartons (check out the 12 flavours shown on their site); while industry watchdog The Portman Group has criticised the X-Plode cream liqueur (and its "novelty sperm character") for being "likely to encourage irresponsible or immoderate behaviour".

Comment: Drinking "stopgap" is like shot-gunning yogurt (peeling off a small corner of the lid and plaing your mouth over it, then squeezing the pot. Don't lie, we've all done it.)

Execept this is over a pound. It's not even packed with bacteria like the other yogurt drinks out there...
