Click pic to view comments Confirmed sighting: Muller Custard Chocolate Sponge
Posted: 13:14 Wed 04-02-2004. Price: 39p. Location: Asda, Lower Earley, Reading. Sub-flavours: Jam Sponge (with 'yellow' custard). Nutritional unusualness: Eat hot or cold.
"Diarmuid Mallon" reports: Another sighting from my lunchtime partnerless shop. Found the chiller cabinet, these are truly lovely. Rich chocolate sauce at the bottom (benefiting from the 9% plain chocolate), light chocolate sponge and creamy chocolate custard on top (17% sauce, 15% sponge and the rest custard). Yum Yum. Also has instructions for heating in a microwave - along with a "helpful" warning that after heating it will be hot!

...Sorry, this is a slightly old sighting from a few months back - and I still haven't been able to work out which Muller puddings are new or not. Anyway, you'd probably just as soon hear about this year's new ice-creams, with Unilever/ Birds Eye Walls unleashing Cornetto Love Potions numbers 1 and 2 right about now (ie Tiramisu with a Spicy Bite, and Choc Chip Flirt with Hazelnut, approx 90p each), to be followed in May by what the Germans are calling Schoko/ Rum-/ Vanillegeschmack, and Pistazie/ Gianduja (numbers 3 and 4, respectively). Truffle-based Magnum Intense will be available in both tub and stick forms, while Richmond Foods are launching their own low-fat alternative, initially in Asda, via the international brand of Skinny Cow.

Comment: According to Google, the "Schoko/ Rum-/ Vanillegeschmack" one means "Schokoeis and ice with Rum /Vanillegeschmack garniert with orangenen flakes" - any better translations?

Comment: The Kaptain is puzzled by this annoucement because this particular Mueller desert treat has been in Northern Ireland stores for many many months.

As for the Mueller Rice treat-o-pots. The Kaptain's favourites are Vanilla Custard and Caramel, not being a fan of the fruit varieties. He also enjoyed the chocolate and original plain flavours. However, these unfortunately seem to have disappeared recently from fooden stores, much to the dissappointment of the Kaptain.

Comment: Pepsi X is widely available in Europe. I don't think it 'feels like summer' but it is nice.

Comment: is it new? all I can find online is that it's "the new energy drink from Pepsi with a cola taste"

Comment: I think its at least one year old. I reported it earlier under the wrong name of Pepsi turbo a while back.

Oh, and its not yellow, just plain old Pepsi colour.

Comment: Cornetto "Love Potions" are available at our local confectionary retailer, but as I don't like either of them I am unable to file a report. ;) 77767 2 50
