Click pic to view comments Confirmed sighting: Hula Hoops Shake 2 Flava
Posted: 13:15 Mon 08-03-2004. Price: 81p for 7 pack. Location: Tesco, Dunstable, Beds. Sub-flavours: "Yee-Hah It's Chicken with BBQ" seasoning sachet. Nutritional unusualness: Not suitable for children under 3 due to small parts.
"Saramond" reports: Old skool salt 'n' shake and "eat 'em off your fingers" Hula-Hoops retro-chic in one. Nothing special on their own, but much nicer with the daddy size BBQ seasoning sachet added. Not sure how safe the level of monosodium glutamate these contain is, but who cares if it makes them taste this good!

..."Saramond" answers Craig David's famously rhetorical question here, while in other crispy creativity: "Rob Rymond" has provided an unconfirmed sighting (but no picture!) of Flamin' Hot Wotsits; The Grocer magazine reports that Bob The Builder's Cheesy Toolbag makers Tayto are planning an upmarket rival to Walkers' Sensations called Fusion (in Roast Beef with Peppercorn Sauce, Roasted Cheese and Mixed Peppercorns, Sweet Chilli and Red Peppers, from 40p), and this week's Money Programme Fat Profits special promises details of Golden Wonder's new "Midas" crisp (7.30pm, Wednesday 10th March, BBC2).

Comment: I will try and get the pic of the Flamin Hot Wotsits. Alot nicer than the Monster Munch ones which are now more tomatot'y than spicey.

Comment: Is this the Money Programme that the nice man from the BBC emailed me about, and I then never heard about again?

Perhaps it was my signing off with "mine's a salt and vinegar" that did it...

Comment: In Hula Hoop related news, Just picked up a Multi-pack with 3 Original, 2 Cheese Toastie and 2 Bacon and Ketchup. The flacours have been out a while but I haven't seen them in a multi-pack until now... Maybe I've led a sheltered life.

Comment: just tried the shake2flava hula hoops, very tasty, i've always been partial to a chicken potato ring, but how annoying is the little flavour packet? is it just me or is it impossible to open properly and distribute it nicely over the crisps? but all in all, nice idea

Comment: Yay! I came on looking for others who had experienced the Glory of Shake 2 Flava Hula Hoops. They're awesome... Are they still making them? The packets are very hard to work with, but are absolutely lovely. My favourite crisp ever. email : 0107350m at gla dot ac dot uk
