Click pic to view comments Confirmed sighting: Cadbury Double Decker with Nuts
Posted: 23:05 Mon 15-03-2004. Price: No idea, sorry!. Location: Suddy's Shop, Nottingham. Nutritional unusualness: Contains "Yeast extract paste", weighs 60g.
"Joanna Nuckowski" reports: Visited my local corner shop this evening and was very surprised to find 3 new products! The Double Decker Nuts, The Kinder Happy Hippo and the new Nestle Double Berry bar. Double Decker Nuts reads "crispy, crunchy, chewy and nutty". On the outside it looks like a normal Double Decker but at just one bite into it you can tell something is very different! There are nuts in with the "nougatine"! These surprisingly don't make the bar any harder to bite. Double Decker was already a nice fusion of tastes, this is another good variant possibly created to revive an old brand.

...We've had a bit of controversy over the Kinder Happy Hippos already, but otherwise top marks to first time spotter "Joanna" for providing such a texturally evocative report unclutted by such details as what kind of nuts they are. In other crumbs of comfort: Independent Retail News reports a May UK launch for Mars Delight (36p, as illustrated by our very own "Kaptain"); NiceCupOfTeaEtc are reminiscing over the Marks and Spencer Dark Chocolate Ginger biscuit; and Muller should be now producing McVities Penguin, Chocolate Digestive and Jaffa Cakes Corners, in accordance with Snackspot prophecy.

Comment: I've had all the McVities Corners. The Jaffa Cakes one is quite nice, although the "orangey sauce" is a bit much for a yogurt. The Penguin one, on the other hand, doesn't have enough sauce (chocolate this time), although maybe I just got a rubbish one. The Digestives one is probably the best of the lot, despite being pretty plain. Unfortunately, I have no digital camera and thus can't give any evidence that I haven't just made this up. Sigh.

Comment: And a website of a clearly.. homegrown band, with no connection, but with similar spelling to the posters. HMMMMM.

Comment: Which member do you think he is? Drummer I reckon!

Comment: It's either drums or bass. I lean towards him playing bass because in the bass player's bio on the site he says "i addicted to cherry coke". He also unaddicted to the verb "to be".

Comment: at last, a band that's not afraid to cover Blink182's "All the small things" *and* Metallica's toe-tapping crowd-pleaser "Enter sandman"... http://www.detour.skywing.co.uk/disco.html

Comment: Hey, I have no problem with JT or Bob. Other than them ordering the site to have no international sightings because they're not interested in them, and insulting other people because they ARE interested, anyways. Oh, and the whole blatant band plug / 'sponsorship' thing. And the fact they're clearly the same person. Outside of that, they're fine.

Comment: I've had a Penguin corner. It was a bit yucky, as are all chocolate yoghurts. Sour yoghurt does not go with the taste of chocolate at all. I didn't take a photo though, sorry.

Comment: Had one of these double deckers today, they're spanking! Taste like the original bars but with an undertone of peanut!

Comment: Thumbs up for the DD/wNuts. It's what I imagine an evil Snickers would be like. Far better than the Snickers Cruncher.

Comment: I was disappointed by this, if only because they'd replaced the oh-so-chewy mallow with crispy-hard nougatine. Hardly within the same product catagory if you ask me...

Comment: Bought a double decker with nuts in Tesco, cheapside, central London. Acceptable but not much different from a standard double decker. 13134 9 10
