Posted: 10:14 Wed 28-04-2004. Price: £1.09. Location: Safeway Stamford Hill. Sub-flavours: Mexican Grill, Sour Cream and Sweet Pepper (Latinos). Nutritional unusualness: Suitable for coeliacs.
"Pauly" kicks off today's Walkers triple-bill with the Doritos Latinos: Tasted OK to start with, then got quite sickly... I just noticed it says "NOT suitable for vegetarians", must be something hidden under "flavourings"... blee!

..."Flameproof" encountered no such surprises (except the obligatory source of phenylanlanine) in his packet of Spicy Tandoori Masala Poppadom Bites Sensations: Nice, light flavour to these - I was worried it was going to be the neon red colour and flavour (yes, red *can* be a flavour in sufficient quantities) of the curry-house tikka. I expect these would go down well with dips at a party. The poppadoms themselves are very well made, not as greasy as some of their pre-packed competitors. Meanwhile, regular spotter "Alex's" enthusiasm just seemed to run away with him towards the bottom of his 40p bag of Chargrilled Steak and Peppercorn Sauce Sensations, boasting: The Walkers Sensations taste just like Steak and Peppercorn, as do the other flavours (in the sense of tasting like what the packet says). A generous helping of crisps are inside the packet. They taste a bit average at first, but grow on you. I've also had Tizer Green and Purple, Mars Delight and Fruity Allsorts, and I've also seen Sour Apple Hubba Bubba Tape, Sensations Poppadoms, and Fruitella Juice Wave, all in Woolworths except the Tizer should anyone care to check.

Comment: Sorry, couldn't contain myself!

And to add to that, Orange Kit Kat Kubes are available in Sainsbury's. Curse my lack of money.

Comment: my favorite food products are dairy then pig products and then crisps. you just cant beat plain salted doritos and a choice of dip. all these other flavours are just for the boring. Do not have the Walkers sensation chicken and Thyme flavour as it repeated on me for days afterwards and you can smell it a mile away. Not a flavour for just before going on a date. Why did they ever stop putting jokes on Curly Wurly bars? Also why did they reduce the size. Do the two enquires go hand in hand?

Comment: "dairy then pig products and then crisps" - is that in order of preference or the order you like to eat them in?

Comment: I like cheese too. It makes me dream so I can escape the humdrum hell of my existance.

The equation in my case though is fish/molluscs < cheese < meat < sweets

Comment: what, you like fish/molluscs that have been feed on cheese made from the milk of animals that have been fed on sweets? (and I thought *I* was picky!)

Comment: order of favorites but I have been known to eat them together when I have come home late from the pub. cheese flavour and bacon crisps together are a great combination and bacon and cheese butties are the best. bacon and cheese flavoured products are very poor unless you mix them up yourself

Comment: I actually preferred the Chicken Passanda & Coriander Poppadom bites to the Spicy Tandoori Masala - and I haven't seen Creamy Yoghurt & Mint anywhere!

Comment: Why doesnt anyone ever make a cheese and pineapple on a stick flavour crisp?

Follow this up with a sausage on a stick flavour, or even the outrageous chicken and mushroom vol au vent flavour.. 50173 4
