Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Fox's Glacier Menthol And Eucalyptus Confirmed sighting: Fox's Glacier Menthol And Eucalyptus
Posted: 22:21 Mon 07-06-2004. Price: 1.60/ 200g bag (but 3 for 2). Location: WH Smiths, Paddington station. Nutritional unusualness: Contain chlorophyll, should you need to photosynthesise.
A bit hot and sticky today for "choccieman's" latest biscuit sighting, so here's a fresh 'n' minty blast from the past that I stumbled across in the "must get round to posting this" archives - "Stuart Campbell" reports: Having done myself a terrible injury over the Easter weekend, I was cheered to spot a new Glacier sweet on the way home, as the whole range is a reliable British classic among confectionery brands. These are straplined "clearly a better mint", but while there's nearly as much peppermint oil as eucalyptus (0.12% and 0.15% respectively), and way more than menthol (0.02%), there isn't a hint of mint to be discerned in the taste. There's precious little menthol either, and eucalyptus doesn't appear to taste of much, so effectively these are just like little greenish chunks of boiled sugar. Disappointing, and didn't end up making me feel better at all.

...Well, we all hope you're back to full "snacking strength" now, "Stuart" - if not, I can recommend the invigorating properties of the much-advertised free sample of Tea Tree and Mint Original Source Shower Gel (you should be able to order yours without watching the ad if you just click the "mint" icon on the right). It offers the refreshing aroma (and tingle) of bathing in liquid Polos, though the free 50ml bottle lacks the larger size's "sport-cap" to assist with in-shower consumption.

Comment: Trying to register for that free shower gel was one of the most tedious experiences of my entire life, then it refused to recognise my email address when it came to finally logging on. I'm going to try again later and mess up their market research in revenge.

Comment: sorry to hear that "Nebbish", maybe you do have to watch the film after all.

I also think they should do more drinks flavours (eg Diet Coke with Lime) that you could combine into a delicious showergel cocktail

Comment: I use the Mint Source shower gel already. Handy tip- don't use it to wash your more, er, delicate areas. Not a pleasant experience.

Comment: Yeah - i kinda wonder what goes on in the heads of people who invent that stuff. I mean, whats next? Chilli Source vaginal douche?

The lime source stuff is lovely though.

On a related note, i once bought some shaving cream from the body shop, without noticing that it was menthol 'flavoured'. Its a bit difficult to shave properly when you cant see a thing because your eyes are bleeding from the menthol fumes.

Comment: but the tingliness of the shower gel on your more delicate parts is half the fun... 79453 9 01
