Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Ben And Jerry's 'Wich Confirmed sighting: Ben And Jerry's 'Wich
Posted: 22:22 Tue 15-06-2004. Price: 2.50. Location: Little snack shack by London Eye (nr Waterloo Station). Nutritional unusualness: None noted.
"Helen" reports: Very nice!!!! And not as sickly as you might imagine! The cookie on the outside is soft and delicious. Was a little disappointed that the icecream inside was not cookie dough flavour though!

...Phew, just managed to post this before the end of the hot weather - much of the delay due to "Helen" cheerily sending in a pic from the offical Ben and Jerry's site (like I wouldn't notice!). It took me a few days to get "a team" down to Waterloo for a proper live action photograph, but nonetheless respect is due for locating a product rarely seen outside official Ben and Jerry's outlets - apart from its tourist-stinging 2.50 price tag, this was generally a pleasant surprise, not much bigger than a thick Wagon Wheel, but probably just filling enough as it is. Elsewhere, the ice-cream season is now in full swing, as The Grocer has reported that Haagen-Dazs have just started pushing their South American toffee-like Dulce de Leche flavour; there's a new Ribena Ice Orange lolly (and I think the same applies to those Solero Red Berries); and the (last 2?) Cornetto Love Potions have been revealed to be Cappucino with an Irish Cream Flavour Lick (number 5) and Forest Fruits Nibbling Vanilla (number 6), all the better to haunt regular spotter "Kim's" feverish Cornetto-related dreams.

Comment: Is It anything like the Tollhouse ice-cream cookies as I can scoff a dangerous amount of those addictive buggers.

Comment: not sure - it reminded me a bit of the Nestle Maxibon or Walls Winner Taco attempts at ice-cream sandwiches, but made with premium quality Otis Spunkmeyer-style cookies

Comment: Ahhh... those winner Tacos were lovely. Obviously no-one else thought so since theyve disappeared off the face of the planet.

Ice cream sarnies are one of the few things i really miss from the states. If anyone knows where you can get hold of these : http://[URL display truncated] (or something like them) in the UK i will personally promise to gain at least 1 stone in weight.

Comment: Incidentally, that cow on the packaging of that B&J 'wich looks a bit too much like a certain badger to me (you *know* what i'm talking about). Maybe i'm just starting to see them everywhere >Gibber<.

Comment: This Marvellous offering from Ben & Jerrys is one of the best and most gorgeous ice creams out there, if you haven't tried this yet, put your plans on hold and go looking for one, start at tesco.com, they have 'em, and like the other comments, those Nestle Maxibon and Walls Winner Taco were in my opinion, the best ice creams "bars" ever created followed by this beauty 6426
