Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Cadbury Dream with real Strawberries ice cream Confirmed sighting: Cadbury Dream with real Strawberries ice cream
Posted: 10:21 Thu 24-06-2004. Price: 1/ box of three. Location: Farmfoods, Filton. Nutritional unusualness: None noted.
"Stuart Campbell" reports: A little bit less sickly-sweet than the choc-bar version, this suffers a bit from the strawberry centre being slightly reminiscent of the foul chemical taste of a McDonald's industrial-effluent shake, but fortunately only passingly. It's still not all that nice, and it'll still keep a 9-year-old awake for a good 72 hours should they get their hands on one, but if faced with a choice between certain death from dehydration under the blazing noonday sun of the Kalahari desert, or eating a couple of these (before they melted, obviously), I could just about force them down. If it needed a whole box of three, though, I'd just scrape a hole in the sand and die quietly.

..."Stuart" at last addresses "Kim's" earlier predictions when she wrote: "I knew they were planning a Strawberries and Dream ice-cream, but I had no idea this chocolate bar was coming out too". In other chilling developments: McDonald's UK appear to be re-introducing a new-look Strawberries and Cadbury Dream McFlurry (but also retaining the + Rolo one?); there appears to be some promotional activity around Ben and Jerry's Peace of Cake (though the product has actually been around for ages); and 125ml "cartridges" of crushed Smarties have been added to the options of rarely-seen cone dispenser the Nestle Ice Creamery.

Comment: i thought the chocolate bar was actually quite pleasing compared to the ice cream. It was quite hard to digest a few spoonfuls without expelling the contents of your stomach :D
