Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Dulce de Leche Haagen Dazs Confirmed sighting: Dulce de Leche Haagen Dazs
Posted: 12:17 Tue 20-Jul-2004. Location: Sainsburys, Southampton. Nutritional unusualness: Caramel not "Toffee Creme".
"choccieman" reports: Pretty good, nothing amazing and certainly not within a mile of Ben and Jerry's Caramel Choo-Choo. Strangely it is described as "Toffee Creme" despite being a caramel ice cream (mebbe that means the same thing but I couldn't find anything on google to back that up ;-) I was also disappointed that the caramel swirl wasn't in the shape of the dancers as per their adverts. How hard can it be for them to do this?

...Congrats to "choccieman" for another of his connoisseur-level sightings - he threatens that he's also tried the Cappucino with an Irish Cream Flavour Lick Love Potion Cornetto, which he describes as "very reminiscent of Kit Kat Kubes Cappuccino (very fake but not foul coffee flavour)", but "hasn't had a chance to scan the wrapper yet", so the race is on! In other icy ingenuity: recent ads in The Grocer reveal that Del Monte have added a "87% fruit" pure Pineapple variant (and kids' frozen Fruitinis) to their almost-unfreezable Orange Fruit Ice - while, continuing the caramel theme, traditional toffee brand Sharps of York have relaunched five 99p bags of Dairy Toffee, Butterscotch Swirls, Chocolate Toffee, Treacle Toffee and Fudge under the somewhat dubious patronage of Sir Kreemy Knut, described as "an aristocratic, eccentric character who was first used to promote the brand in 1919".

Comment: There's no way they will get away with Kreemy Knut after all the rulings made recently about FCUK.

Comment: which ruling was that "Nebbish"? (go on, paste a bit of the story here)

personally I'd be more worried about upsetting this guy http://www.cnutattitude.com/news.php

- who, after some run-ins with fcuk, now appears to maintain that "cnut" is "all his idea", along with "wnak" (oh my sides!)

Comment: The oversized head, the bow-tie. Is it just me or does "Sir Knut" seem a little bit like child "prodigy" James Harris?

Comment: Here ya go Sanckspot -

"The Advertising Standards Authority has demanded to see all French Connection poster ads before they are displayed in public after repeatedly warning the company that its FCUK logo was offensive.

The ASA will pre-vet all French Connection ad campaigns for the next two years before they can be featured on poster sites.

The watchdog decided on the sanction after upholding a complaint against the company - the tenth in six years - about a poster for its new radio station, FCUK FM. "

Comment: cheers N - I do hope they won't be advertising these as "Knuting Dlecious", or worse

Comment: i blame kaptain korolev for this 'kreemy knut' madness...
Posted: 15:38 Tue 20-Jul-2004 by Snackspot # permalink comment
Comment: why, does the Kaptain look like James Harries?

(I'd just like to emphasise that this is not intended as a personal slight, and I suspect that we all have resembled James in some way or another at some point in our - or his/her - lives...)

Comment: I live in the road where James Harries' family have their offices. The rest I would not recognise, but James/Lauren I do see around. Poor tyke.

Comment: The Kaptain does not encourage the klever rearranging of dirtsy words or kross gender swopsies.

Once when living in Finland for a short time the Kaptain happened across a group of Finns who had never before set eyes on an FCUK garment. A komarade of the Kaptain was wearing such a garment and caused mild offence to the Suominites, the situation was quickly rectified though through the konsumption of liquorice kandy, cloud berries and Lapin Kulta.

Comment: Did the Kaptain also enjoy the black spirit, Salmiakki Koskenkorva during his time in Finland?
Posted: 07:07 Thu 22-Jul-2004 by "Kaptain Korolev" # permalink comment
Comment: Yes indeed, the Kaptain did and he must thank you for reminding him of the name has he had forgotsky it.

A very drinkable beverage the Kaptain recalls, mainly because you couldn't taste the vodka only the sweet sweet salmiaki/liquorice.

Talking of Salmiaki, the Kaptain remembers his favourite brand which went by the kurious name of 'Kack.'
