Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Cadbury Dairy Milk Cranberry Crunch Special Edition Confirmed sighting: Cadbury Dairy Milk Cranberry Crunch Special Edition
Posted: 13:14 Mon 20-Sep-2004. Price: Can't remember. Location: Woolworths, Selby. Sub-flavours: Toffee Crunch. Nutritional unusualness: "Chocolate gives us an emotional boost, which triggers similar 'good feelings' to those we experience when listening to music, or being in love!".
"Phillerena" reports: It's a Cadbury's overload! I saw 3 new Cadbury chocolate bars in Woolworths this weekend - this being the one that looked the nicest. They also had a seemingly permanent addition to the Dairy Milk range, one with orange chips in it (similar to the mint chips one), and a Toffee Crunch special edition, like this one. I tried this one as I usually like cranberries, but was disappointed at the distinct lack of cranberry content. It also has mixed cereal clusters in it which are more dominant than the cranberries, and tastes a bit like Dairy Milk with shortcake biscuit. The cranberries really just taste like some unidentifiable fruit. I could barely even tell they were there. The packaging is very similar to the Tiffin bars you used to get, and this bar is about the same size as those were too. There's also an interesting paragraph on the back about "the benefits of chocolate". Nice try Cadbury's, but I can't see this one staying around for very long.

..."Phillerena" here continues his bid to become Britain's very own "JazzJazz" - in other chocolate-coated challenges: The Grocer reports that Lindt have launched a "new Nut range", featuring "thicker, chunkier tablets" and "32-34% nuts" (in Dark Hazelnut, Milk Hazelnut and White Almond, 1.99/ 150g), while Fairtrade fans Divine are launching a range of chocolate-covered fruit and nut products in Oxfam and Liberty stores (with dried apricot, whole brazil or dried mango slices, 2.99/ 150g packet).

Comment: Mmmmm - looks very tasty. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for these.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the white chocolate Twix that's out now on this site yet. I got one in Woolworths on Saturday, and went back for another on the Monday so tasty were they.

Comment: Turns out the Toffee Crunch variant is just awful. It tastes like chocolate with grit in. The minute slivers of rock hard toffee just make the bar crunchy to bite into - not a satisfying chocolate experience. And at 89p they're on the pricey side too.

Comment: yeah, I wasn't too keen on the Toffee one (like Dairy Milk containing pieces of broken up Dime bar?) and couldn't really taste any cranberry in the other one either

Comment: sorry but i also tried this bar and it seems you simply received a poor one. i could taate the full flavour of the cranberries - maybe you should try it again?
