Posted: 17:54 Thu 14-Oct-2004. Price: 99p for 12; Quavers not noted. Location: Safeways, Hereford; Non-chain Newsagent, Milford-on-Sea, Hampshire. Nutritional unusualness: (Skips) Toungtastic Tastiness: 100%.
"smeg_head" reports: A strange beast these in that they don't taste much different to the original playground classic that is Prawn Cocktail Skips. The familiar tangy aftertaste is present just stronger and slightly sourer. This isn't a bad thing though as this new variety of Skips is very, very more-ish. I managed to resist, however, as the memory of my ex flatmate vomiting after a Skips overdose is still all too fresh! To sum up a very nice variation - a slightly stronger tasting Skip which I will definitely purchase again!

...And thanks for that added detail, "smeg_head" - is it just me, or does the packet also look like they're being thrown up by the ghost? Meanwhile, "Philip Buckley-Mellor" maintains that as "a married 35-years old parent, I can't be spending all my time looking at crisp prices!", but was just able to dash off these comments on Walkers Quavers Ghosts: Spotted these potato-snacks today, clearly some form of crisp/ satanic-ritual-celebration crossover opportunity. Nice package design, nothing to keep Philippe Starke awake but nice. As the package states these are "ghost shaped", with trailing aura and two full-proportion eye-sockets, flatter than normal Quavers but just as crunchy. If anything, these appear to be even more "cheesy" than normal, not in a bad way (how could it be!?!), but very noticeable. Highly recommended, I'll be looking forward to Walkers' next pagan-based snack - after "Monster Munch" and these ghoulish treats, perhaps "Sacrificial Virgin"-flavour Wotsits?

Comment: This may sound a little daft to most as nothing I do job related or hobby wise has anything do do with snack foods at all. However, I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with a question thats been bothering me for a long time now, daft i know but: What did Walkers "Skips" used to be called before they became Skips? I know they were called something prior to this, years and years ago (probably 15-20 ish). It was bothering me for ages, I asked my family and friends and now its bothering them too - help please anyone? I didn't know who else to ask! Thanks!
