Click pic to view comments - International sighting: Nestle Kit Kat Peanut Butter/ White Winter Zimt International sighting: Nestle Kit Kat Peanut Butter/ White Winter Zimt
Posted: 12:14 Mon 08-Nov-2004. Price: $1.00 Canadian. Location: (Peanut Butter) British Columbia, Canada. Nutritional unusualness: 270 calories, 15 grams fat, 22 grams sugar, 120 mg sodium, 29 grams carbohydrates.
"Mike" kicks off with the Peanut Butter variety as follows: I was on a trip in British Columbia and I saw these in a store so I picked up a few. It's the same shape and size as the Chunky KK's. They are okay, but not great. It has a peanut butter layer on top, and peanut butter inbetween the Kit Kat wafers. I have to admit that it tastes nothing like a Kit Kat. Instead it tastes like a big peanut butter stick. I looked and saw a couple on eBay.

..."Mike" continues the ongoing Kit Kat madness with this Canadian delicacy - I think he's referring to this eBay auction page (they seem to have a category for "Home and Garden > Food and Wine > Candy, Chocolate > Chocolate Bars", though this link should work for another 60 days?). And hopefully that information (along with my Google translation that "Zimt" probably means "cinnamon") will also be of use to "Thomas from Germany", who enthuses: Hi, the Blood Orange KITKAT is very fine! Here in German have I found KIT-KAT "White Winter"; with ZIMT-Flavor. Sorry, English word for Zimt = ???. Pic from White Winter: see here of my Page and see here. Where can I buy in InterNet (www) English Kitkat? I look for Kitkat mint, pudding flavor and all other sorts. Bye and sorry for my bad English. I hope you can read this.

Comment: A quick google indicates that zimt == cinnamon, apparently.

Comment: More flavours! Do you think they're trying to appeal to the obsessive-compulsive gotta-eat-'em-all demographic? Certainly works for me.

Comment: The Peanut Butter Kit Kat variety have just landed in Australia (different packaging as they are made in Australia - should i send in a pic??). I found it pretty good, really. Definite peanut butter aroma and taste, slight salty aftertaste as you'd expect from peanut butter. Way better than the Capuccino variety, but not as good as the Dark chocolate...

Comment: It seems like American sweets are becoming easier to get a hold of now, which is nice.

I'll tell you what would make a fine edition to the already HUGE Kit Kat range. Chewy Strawberry - Strawberry flavoured chocolate (Dark or White) with a Chewy inside, similar to a 'Drifter'. Drifters are awesome, beats me how they make chewy wafer, but it's delicious.

Comment: I just found KitKat Peanut Butter in a local (Basildon, Essex) discount shop "99p or less" - pack of 5 priced at, well, 99p. Judging by the bar wrapper, they were made for the Canadian market (the wrapper has the Canadian Nestle website URL) but the outer 'multipack' wrapper has the ingredients listings in English, German, Spanish (I think) and a Scandinavian language, and states that it was 'Packed in Leicester' (with a UK postcode) which suggests that someone, if not Nestle themselves, is importing the things from Canada for the European market. I tasted one - not too bad, actually. The Peanut Butter taste is from a soft 'filling' above the wafer; not too heavy on the peanut flavour, but enough to give an idea. As an occasional snack, fine - but I wouldn't want to live on them! Au Res., Paul
