Posted: 23:02 Thu 02-Dec-2004. Price: About 3.00 by itself I think (price - and restaurant participation - may vary). Location: Burger King, Upper Regent Street, London. Sub-flavours: "Original" (tested) or "Spicy". Nutritional unusualness: No nutritional info provided.
Snackspot reports: UK debut of the product famously launched in the US with the "Subservient Chicken" campaign, though frankly I wouldn't be surprised if they also had Colonel Sanders tied up somewhere behind that sofa. Yes, this product screams "KFC Fillet Burger" so loudly that it was starting to upset passers-by - I certainly enjoyed its deep-fried-style "5.2oz of premium chicken" (especially accompanied by BK's oven-baked potato "Skinnies"), perhaps because I've always been a fan of BK's sandwiches (though something's *got* to be done about their fries...)

...Anyway, in other hot-food action: The Grocer magazine predicts that Patak's will attempt to expand their Tikka Tikka outlet at Manchester Airport into a national chain of Indian takeaways; those nutters at Whitworths are producing at least 5 microwaveable World Horizons sachets (including 3 kinds of Couscous, Lentil Dhal, and Mushy Peas with Curry); and reader "Kevin Cecil" sent in this picture of a Sainsbury's Vegetable Dhansak he purchased recently, where it looks like one of the potatoes (circled in the photo) actually has a face.

Comment: I know - it's like one of those things where people bid thousands of dollars for the face of the Virgin Mary on a cheese sandwich or something!

oh and I just found the BK receipt in my pocket - it was 3.29 for just the sandwich *by itself*, and the Oven-baked Skinnies didn't leave much change out of a fiver, as I recall...

Comment: Burger Kings fries must be fixed! Can a campaign be started or something? They are disgusting!

Comment: woahwoahwoah, check the subservient chicken out. I had an awful lot of fun. Felt sorry for it after a while though... it's amazing.

Comment: on a burger related tip, a friend of mine recently rendered the big mac obsolete by purchasing two double cheeseburgers at 99p each and combining them into one leviathan meat and cheese and bun mountain. its a penny cheaper too.
