Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Nestle Kit Kat Dark Confirmed sighting: Nestle Kit Kat Dark
Posted: 18:01 Sat 05-Feb-2005. Price: 99p/ pack of 8. Location: Asda, Stevenage. Nutritional unusualness: Two crisp fingers with a blend of plain chocolate and milk chocolate.
"paulyw" reports: I'm not sure if there's any "restrictions" on the reporting of new Kit Kat varieties following last week's Kit Kat mania, but here goes... Found these whilst looking for the Caramac variety (found the Caramac ones in Waitrose eventually). The pack is the same as the orange, mint and Christmas pud flavours : 8 x 2 finger bars. And very nice they are too. The coating is dark choc but inside is still wafer/ milk chocolate combo. The dark chocolate isn't too "dark" - nowhere near the "strength" of Bournville - but certainly adds a nice taste to the bar. All in all a very agreeable combination and as such I prefer them over the rather sweet and sickly Caramac version.

..."paulyw" returns with this compare-and-contrast confirmation of previous Dark Kit Kat rumours - while, in other chocolate curiosities, "Luncheon Voucher's" instincts ultimately proved correct regarding the mythical pink-wrapped Yorkie he found in a "Random newsagents, Wendover", admitting: With comments like "Easier to choose than shoes" and "If you could just stop talking long enough to take on this challenge", Nestle's Tango-influenced post-post-post modern ironic sexism seems to be trying to either win back or further alienate the girly chocolate buyer. Is this the first sighting of a "new" product with absolutely no difference to the normal one except the wrapper? Does it even count? Who knows...

Comment: Hi Thomas,I'm sorry... the Lemon Cheesecake has been discontinued since last year... I believe the last time I bought them was the summer. I saw a couple on ebay but those are rare. They will probably come out with them again in the future... so don't lose hope! :)

Comment: That's the new (?) KitKat Fine Dark (as opposed to being just KitKat Dark) - I bought one from Sainsbury's in Macclesfield today so if in the UK there's no need to bother with eBay; just go to your local Sainsbury's branch and see if they have some. (They were in a box by the checkout where they often put 'tempting things'!)
