Posted: 23:27 Tue 08-Mar-2005. Price: US$1.59/ 10 Fl Oz. Location: Safeway, Japantown, San Fransisco. Nutritional unusualness: "Consumption of alcoholic beverages impairs your ability to drive a car or operate machinery".
Snackspot reports: Possibly the most shocking of all the products I spotted in the US the other week, this has the dubious honour of being Budweiser's first foray into infusing beer with both "caffeine, guarana and ginseng", plus the "aromas of blackberry, raspberry and cherry". The results are, perhaps unsurprisingly, fairly revolting - even by the standard of other unusually-flavoured beers - I didn't notice any particular energy rush from the "caffeine, guarana and ginseng" cocktail, and if any further evidence was required to dissuade under-18s from drinking, I'd like to cite the fact that this was nowhere near as nice as the Strawberry Fanta I purchased from a nearby Popeye's Chicken outlet to wash the taste away. And, in traditional "Red Bull" style, you don't get very much in a can, either.

...In other beverage bizarritude: "Tom Lythe" is of course referring to the much-anticipated non-diet version of Diet Coke with Lime when he boasts: Was in Dallas Texas USA today and spotted them allowing people to try the NEW "Coke With Lime", must admit it tastes very nice, it wasn't too cold, but if it was it would be so nice. I look forward to having more again soon - while "Whomper" spotted Capri Sun, chilled in cans in Jacksons, Fulford, York, reminiscing: Tall thin cans, Red Bull style. I'm not about to buy them, as I hate Capri Sun with a passion (fruit), although I have some fond recollection of the lethal cutting edges a playground scamp could forge from their foil pouches.

Comment: You can get (non-diet) Coke with Lime in Jacky White's Market in Sunderland City Centre but I haven't seen it elsewhere so it might be an import?
