Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Hula Hoops Shake 2 Salt Confirmed sighting: Hula Hoops Shake 2 Salt
Posted: 21:11 Sat 30-Apr-2005. Price: £1.19 for a multipack of 7. Location: Iceland, Plymouth. Nutritional unusualness: "40% Less Sodium (Including Salt Sachet)".
"Magnetic Ham Sandwich" reports: Hula Hoops have now joined in the recent snack trend for offering a more healthy reduced or no salt option - along with the recent "Naked" variety introduced by luxury crisp manufacturer Tyrrells and the similar "Undressed" Kettle Chips variety soon to be available. You can even get unsalted own-brand crisps in Sainsbury's these day. These Hula Hoops do include a small blue sachet of salt for you to add if you like to make your own Ready Salted flavour. But even if you do this, a lot of the Hula Hoops will miss out on the small amount of salt provided and just taste of potato.

...Crisp week concludes (or DOES it? OR DOES IT?) with "Magnetic Ham Sandwich" confirming previous rumours of this follow-up to last spring's Chicken with BBQ Hula Hoops Shake 2 Flava (Kettle Chips, incidentally, are believed to concentrating on pushing just the one new Mango Chilli flavour this summer). Meanwhile, imagine "Matt's" surprise at finding (Dutch?) Latin Pepper Pringles for 99p in Home Bargains, Walkden, Manchester, commenting: Very nice! Another flavour to the Pringles range. Not sure if these are some dodgy import from the continent though... Very nice flavour (if pepper is your thing)... Highly recommended.

Comment: I often wonder if it has never occured to the crisp manufacturers that people could add more salt thus negating their attempt to make the crisps "healthier". I mean you wouldn't think that a Mars bar could get much more unhealthy and yet in Scotland they found a way. Perhaps people want to eat unhealthily.
