Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Nestle Rolo Cookies Confirmed sighting: Nestle Rolo Cookies
Posted: 22:29 Wed 04-May-2005. Price: 99p for 5. Location: Sainsbury's, New Cross Gate. Sub-flavours: Milkybar ones also available, apparently. Nutritional unusualness: "Made with real Rolo".
"Commander Zorg" reports: Regular Sainsbury's milk choc chip cookies, American-ised by having large melted chunks of Rolo in to make them even sweeter. It creates a crisper cookie, with the melted Rolo caramel upping the crunchiness and sickliness by a good degree - but it's worth it for the odd find of a lump of gooey cookie mixed in with an entire melted Rolo. I recommend eating around those bits and saving them til last or offering them to a friend.

..."Commander Zorg" returns with this eagerly awaited followup to those "The Simpsons" jelly bean and marshmallow ones. And in other Nestle innovation, "Simon Greenwood" claims to have spotted a genuine Australian Violet Crumble (recently launched over here as the Golden Crumble, of course), going for 45p in Jackson's, Sprotbrough, Doncaster, explaining: Australian favourite previously only available at Cybercandy and expat shops. It's like a big Crunchie but the interior is more dense - more like cinder toffee than honeycomb. Jackson's is a Hull-based convenience store chain that was recently taken over by Sainsbury's so they may turn up in the sweet aisle there shortly. South Yorkshire is a low key testing ground for new products, but on the other hand it may have just been a bargain buy, something that Jackson's are quite good at.

Comment: You can make these very easily youreslf by wrapping a basic cookie dough around a single Rolo. My version was very nice so I don't think I'll fork out for these.
