Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: The Simpsons Squishee Sherbet Creams Confirmed sighting: The Simpsons Squishee Sherbet Creams
Posted: 23:23 Mon 20-Jun-2005. Price: 3 packs for 1. Location: Leeds Market. Nutritional unusualness: Supposed to taste of sherbet.
"Phillerena" reports: Had to buy these as they looked like a novelty - Sherbet Creams, cream filled biscuits with a fizzy 'sherbet' flavour". Well they do taste slightly of lemon, and slightly sharp, but not fizzy. They taste nothing like lemon sherbet. Each biscuit has Simpsons characters etched into it. They taste OK but only OK in a cheap sort of way. They're made by Elkes Biscuits in Uttoxeter. Oh and Krusty the Klown also has a message for his fans: "I heartily endorse this product" (he's on the back of the pack).

...Thanks "Phillerena" - though it's a shame it sounds like they've toned this down from the classic "I heartily endorse this event or product!". In other cynical "The Simpsons" sponsorship, Bart, Lisa and Homer appear to be new additions to the "Toffee" and "Maple Syrup" bags of Butterkist pre-packed popcorn, while those seeking a more conventional fizzy-citrus experience may have to console themselves with a (non-diet) version of Coca-Cola with Lemon, available in the UK "from mid-June", just 3 short years after Diet Coke Lemon first washed up on these shores.

Comment: Pah, coke is full of rubbish. Cant believe people still drink it. I cant decide whether the diet versions are as bad as the normal ones or not - artificial sweeteners can be even worse than sugar.

Comment: How can you say that?? 'Ice-cold Coke on the back of my throat, fishes on the line...'

Comment: I thought the sherbet WAS quite fizzy, actually.

Comment: You must have been lucky then or perhaps mine were so old they had lost their fizz.

Comment: I bought a packet of these a few months ago, intrigued by the combination of biscuit + fizzy stuff. I was disappointed...there was no real fizz. 95482 2 96
