Confirmed sighting: McDonald's Lion McFlurry
Posted: 18:53 Wed 22-Jun-2005. Price: 99p. Location: McDonald's, Southampton. Nutritional unusualness: None noted.
"choccieman" reports: Whilst not quite as nice (and original for a flurry) as the Rolo Florida Orange this is still a nice alternative to the usual bland flavours on offer at the golden arches. Fortunately (or sadly depending on your point of view) unlike a Lion Bar itself the product isn't solid to the point of being hazardous to your teeth when cold. If Nestle and McD's continue the partnership what next - Caramac McFlurry?
..."choccieman" returns with this (belated) followup to the last McFlurry we deemed worthy of its own mention, the unsystematically-named
+ Rolo. And in other crunchy creations, Mars/ Masterfoods are anticipated to be launching "everyday luxury" Galaxy Promises chocolate bars in September (99p/ 100g, in Roast Hazelnut, Caramel Crunch, Cocoa Crisp, or Rich Coffee), though you shouldn't have to wait that long to sample Muller Corner American Classics (38p each, £1.99 for six), with a range of ostensibly transatlantic flavours claiming to accompany your yoghurt with a dash of Alabama Chocolate Fudge Cake, Blueberry Manhattan Cheesecake, New England Banoffee, or Florida Key Lime Pie.

Comment: i swear mcdonalds are just using thesame goddam ingredients for every mcflurry, but change the name to make it seem like your buying something different. eg-
the basic mcflurry = icecream
mcflurry with caramel = icecream + caramel
Cadburys milk chocolate mcflurry = icecream + milk chocolate pieces
CADBURYS LION MCFLURRY = icecream + milk chocolate pieces + caramel
Cadburys crunchie mcflurry = icecream + chocolate pieces + crunchie pieces
Cadburys creme egg mcflurry = icecream + caramel + fondant + chocolate
Obviously mcflurries like smarties has crushed smarties in it, but its obvious their using exactly the same ingredients to make up the lion mcflurry or any other name they claim the mcflurry is… I haven’t even bothered buying it!

Comment: The orange Rolo one used orange flavoured caramel in it. No other McFlurry had that in it.
By the way have they ever done a Kitkat Mcflurry? I wonder what's next...caramel Kitkat Editions McFlurry no doubt.

Comment: They have done a KitKat McFlurry and it was delicious!
I'm getting annoyed with none of the flurry's being stirred properly when I order them. Surely just makes it an ordinary sundae if the bits are only on the top?

Comment: Speed review of the American corners:
Chocolate fudge thingy: A bit boring, despite actual fudge being in it.
Banoffee: Nice. Until you look at the ENORMOUS sugar content, anyway.
Key Lime Pie: Great. Wonderful. Buy loads.
Blueberry cheesecake: Like the other cheesecake Crunch corners. Only blueberry.

Comment: I had a Lion McFlurry and it had (presumably left-over) orange caramel in it, which made it COMPLETELY inauthentic. A disappointment.

Comment: The last Mcflurry I had was properly stirred in for once, it was the Lion one. Mmmmmmmm it tastes sooo much better when it is stirred in. Complain to McDonalds about it, I did.

Comment: Yes I agree that the Avalanche from KFC is much nicer. Really creamy and dairy ice cream. I love the flake ones :) McDonalds ice cream is more watery, although I do really like the creme egg ones. Can't wait 'till easter.

Comment: i brought four lion mcfluffys from the mcdonalds branch i paid £3.96 for them. I tried one and thought (this is boring)so i then picked up the mcflurrys one by one and threw them as hard as i could at the staff behind the counter. Then I threw my coke at them aswell. i was so disapointed with it i cried for nearly a week.
