Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Coca-Cola with Lemon Confirmed sighting: Coca-Cola with Lemon
Posted: 15:05 Fri 24-Jun-2005. Price: 1.25. Location: Woolworths, Guildford. Nutritional unusualness: 10.6 carbs (see below).
"alan w" reports: Much more refeshing taste than the diet version, actually tastes like it does in the pub when they put a slice of lemon in it, definitely worth trying. I was pleasantly surprised with the taste expecting it to be rather chemically, but it's really not bad at all. But cherry's still my favourite!

...And top marks to (I think) first-time spotter "alan w" here - on almost every count except perhaps the slight lack of detail on what he's measuring his "carbs" in (it sounds like it might be 10.6g sugar/ 100ml, but you never know, do you?). Comiserations, meanwhile, to "Matt" who says he paid "normal can price!!" for the same product, basically re-iterating: New limited edition Coca Cola with Lemon (non-diet)... been waiting for this for a long time! I like Pepsi Twist, but it's not generally available where I live. I believe [this] is only available for a limited amount of time. :-{ Sadly, "Matt" was unable to provide photographic evidence of what he'd consumed, enigmatically offering: I have got a photo of a plastic bottle though... I would need another person's permission before releasing it to you... Are you interested?

Comment: Limited edition?

A bit pointless really isn't it? Why is it Limited Edition?

Gosh, it's like the Snackspot Inquisition.

Comment: Coke with Lemon was out here in New Zealand in 2003 as a counter to a similar Pepsi product - don't think it proved to be terribly popular with the punters..since then we've had Lime coke (another flop that seems to be currently being phased out) and the most recent addition, Coke with Raspberry.

Comment: What is Coke With Raspberry like?

I can't see how people would really rate the Pepsi Twist's. They're good enough drinks, but you can barely taste the lemon/lime.

Comment: Just got two bottles of this for 55p (!) each in Asda. It's really not bad at all - certainly better than any of the other varieties I've tasted (I had full-everything Coke with Lime in the US recently, which was dire). I wouldn't mind trying the Raspberry one either.

Comment: Coke with Raspberry is drinkable but I wouldn't buy it ahead of regular coke - it seems to be an attempt to exploit the nostalgia of New Zealanders of a certain age - raspberry syrup & coke was something that was supposedly often given to kids when they were dragged into pubs by their parents in the 50s/60s..a more innocent age blah blah blah..

anyway here's a photo of the bottle, taken at Wellington airport where I first spotted the raspberry coke: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/kferrand/ckr.jpg

Comment: Yowser, at last they brought out non-poisoned lemon coke. And it tastes pretty much just like I hoped. Now you must all buy lots, so it quickly loses its 'special edition' markings.

Comment: I just tried the Lemon edition now, and I would definately like to see it lose it's limited edition markings. It has a surprising natural Lemon flavour, not too strong or chemically and it definately holds it's own against Cherry and Vanilla.

Comment: How can we petition to Cocal-Cola compan to do a trial run of regular lemon Coke in the U.S.? I've been drinking the Coke with Lime, and, while pleasant, my taste buds need more!!!!! 75629 1 1 20
