Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Nestle Double Chocolate low carb/ Fruit-tella Light Confirmed sighting: Nestle Double Chocolate low carb/ Fruit-tella Light
Posted: 23:41 Wed 20-Jul-2005. Price: 2 for 2.00 (normal price 1.29). Location: Superdrug, Meadowhall Sheffield. Nutritional unusualness: (Double Chocolate low carb) 5g net carbs, 7% roasted cocoa pieces.
"charl" reports: I am not a fan of Nestle chocolate as a rule, but this low carb variant is rather nice. The roasted cocoa pieces seem to distract from any overwhelming artificial sweetner taste and give a disarmingly good crunchy texture. A resounding "not bad" to the evil corporate Nestle.

...Sorry for the lack of updates recently (as I believe it's traditional to say), there was a slight technical problem with the PC I normally use to upload pictures. But the low-cal lunacy continued as "charl" also located these Fruit-tella Light Strawberry at 69p for 38g in Woolworths, Sheffield, musing: I've long thought there to be a gap in the sugar-free market in the form of chewy sweets. Asda do sugar-free fruit chews, but they have an odd texture and average flavours. These Fruit-tella on the other hand taste like the real thing and are hence rather good. They do however wield the mighty twin hammers of "excessive consumption may produce laxative effects" and poor grammar (it should be "33% fewer calories", not "33% less calories than ordinary sugar candies"). Chew (and read) at thy peril.

Comment: haha yeah sorry "charl" - i never know whether i'll get away with the accented E in "Nestle" either. but at least I've got out of the habit of putting a capital letter in your name, which i've learned you really object to :)

Comment: i'm not adverse to accents, just capitals. i am very touched you've learnt to lowercase me over the years, snackspot! :)

Comment: To save using those funny foreign characters ;-) , can we go back to calling them nestles (or did that have an accented e too? - I'm obviously too young to remember). 19853 7 09
