Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: KP Discos Boogie Down Beef flavour Confirmed sighting: KP Discos Boogie Down Beef flavour
Posted: 23:36 Thu 21-Jul-2005. Price: 1.19 for 12 at the moment. Location: Morrisons, Plymouth. Sub-flavours: Groovy Cheese and Onion / Salt and Vinegar Fever. Nutritional unusualness: 8.2 g of fat in every 28g bag.
"Magnetic Ham Sandwich" reports: So farewell to the Pickled Onion flavour of Discsos. After a lengthy stint in the multipacks, it has been replaced with the funky new Boogie Down Beef flavour as part of a freshening up of the pack designs. There's tons of flavour on all 3 flavours in the multipack. The Salt and Vinegar Fever makes your eyes water, for instance. These are very tasty crisps - or potato flakes to be precise. Boogie Down Beef takes your tastebuds back to your childhood when Beef/ Ox/ Oxo flavours were much more common in the shops. Only Steak McCoy's comes close to this taste sensation.

...And speaking of "Boogie Down" themed products, "Andrew Maddison" seems ready to resort to "all means necessary", as he alleges: Burton's Fish and Chips are no more! Having been looking for them for a year or so since our University supermarket stopped stocking them (Planet Snack's appalling "New Improved Flavour" relaunch was responsible for that debacle), I finally got off my proverbial backside and contacted Burton's Snack Foods. They've stopped making them! Everyone who wants to see them back where they belong - on the shelves of corner shops and supermarkets everywhere - give them a call and they MIGHT start making them again. I want a multipack!!! The Original MUST Return!

Comment: Had these myself a couple of weeks ago. I agree with Andrew, however to me they taste just like Beefy Bovril crisps from a good few years ago. A very welcome addition. Our vending machine at work still has the Pickled Onion flavour in them so I think I may go purchase all packets before they're gone for good

Comment: PS "Snackspot" - did you mean to have both those Fish'n'Chips links point to the same entry?

[No, I didn't, fixed now, cheers Stu - Snackspot]

Comment: Sadly Pickled Onion flavour has come and gone from the Discos range. Only Salt n Vinegar and Cheese & Onion are permanent flavours in a Discos multipack - the third flavour comes and goes. Does anyone recall the Chilli flavour Discos KP used to make about 10 years ago ??

Comment: I am a Brit living in the US and trying to recall some crisps I used to like. I thought they were KP discos, but looking at the pack I don't think so. The ones I am thinking of were triangular in shape (not Skips)- does the name Deltas ring any bells? 92367 9

Comment: Does anyone remember the spicy flavour they did of the discos, they were like worster sauce but spicy. They used to make your mouth feel like they were on fire, They were in a goldish colour packet. I say they should bring them back, also bring the salt & vinegar bombs back, me and my friend spent £10 on crisps just for the bomb flavouring.

I agree they should bring back the Fish & Chips biscuits i used to love these as a child.

Comment: Spicy Discos were excellent, but now, onto more seriouss matters, why on earth have they changed the beef flavour again over the past year? they're now a sort of tangy/spicy flavour rather than the great beefy treat they used to be.
