Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Kizz-Me energy drink Confirmed sighting: Kizz-Me energy drink
Posted: 21:01 Mon 05-Sep-2005. Price: 70p (250ml). Location: a London newsagents. Nutritional unusualness: 0.4 % Zallouh Root Extract (a Lebanese aphrodisiac, apparently).
"Lee Maguire" reports: This may have been out in the UK for a few months already, but it's new to me. Kizz-Me looks, and tastes, like you might imagine a Ribena energy drink to look like - but on closer examination of the can, it's clearly supposed to be some kind of *Love* energy drink. Can't say it had any aphrodisiac effect, though.

..."Lee Maguire" shows off his new camera-phone with this update to the "adult" energy drinks discussion we had a couple of years ago, plus photographic evidence of Morrisons' policy of only selling Red Bull to over-16s. (Though I can't work out if this is the official Kizz-Me site, or whether it's this one, which appears to be part of a Nathan Barley-esque DJ Agency.) Anyway, in other beverage bulletins: no sign as yet of the rumoured "designer" aluminium Coke bottles (though here's a handy guide to all the Diet Cokes currently available in the US), while "foobar saunders" has uncovered that: The Coca-Cola company have just applied for a trademark for a new beverage, "Bla(with a line over it)K" - widely anticipated to be a "coffee-flavoured soft drink" that can be drunk at room temperature or heated in a microwave.

Comment: Why doesn't someone in the UK get the rights to sell the current Jolt line - but in "skinny" 250ml cans?

I'm all nostalgic for those uber-krad mid-1990s haX0r lifestyle accoutrements. http://www.joltcola.com/jolt/

Comment: I have seen the kizz-me cans (just the same as pictured) in december 2004 in Belgium (Assenede). On the can the language that was used was Dutch/French. It also mentioned that it was distributed by a Belgian distributor. http://www.kizz-me.com is the site of the beverage.
