Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Cadbury Dairy Milk Almond and Honey Confirmed sighting: Cadbury Dairy Milk Almond and Honey
Posted: 16:27 Fri 09-Sep-2005. Price: 1.24. Location: Woolworths, Plymouth. Nutritional unusualness: 58g of fat per 200g bar.
"Magnetic Ham Sandwich" reports: Cadbury have come up with a real winner here. There aren't yet many companies that combine chocolate with honey, but after tasting this delicious bar I'm sure there will be more in the future. There are tiny chunks of honey-flavoured nougat (and apparently also tiny bits of anonymous almond) scattered in the chunks of chocolate in the same way as the chunks in the mint or orange crisp Dairy Milk varieties. Next time you see some cows or bees you should go up to them and thank them for helping to produce this delicious bar of chocolate.

...Yes, products don't have to be actually made of potatoes to fall under "Magnetic Ham Sandwich's" crispy remit, as proved by this latest celebration of Cadbury's (claimed) "100 Years Of Happiness". In other almond-flavoured alerts, Snackspot's resident Peter Parker (or is it Jimmy Olsen?) figure, "Lee Maguire", snapped this "before and after" pic of the aforementioned Daim renaming, raising the obvious question: where does the extra 4p on the 29p "Daim" go (compared to the 25p Dime)? No doubt direct to some faceless Eurocrats, "Lee" theorised - back off, Brussels!

Comment: Tried some today, meh they arent anything special. The honey taste is too sickly and there's barely any almond in. I detected a few miniscule specks of it and that's all.

Comment: Almonds are expensive, Cadbury's chocolate isn't. You do the maths.

Comment: I quite enjoyed mine - but I still like Toblerone better because you get bigger chunks of the honey nougat in them. If they made the chocolate honey flavoured then loaded it with almonds it might work

Comment: All 'big bar' varieties of Cadbury Dairy Milk are 3 for 2 in Woolworths right now. Infact they have many similar offers on right now on lots of different chocolate bars - the lilac wrappered Milka range, the Galaxy Promises range, the Terry's Chocolate Orange range [including the delicious minty variety], even the big bar Aero flavours. Chocolate paradise !!

Comment: Mention of Toblerone reminds me of my recent visit to their home country of Switzerland. There, in addition to the regular, black and white boxes quite a few shops had toblerones in special red packaging with the Swiss flag on one end. Never seen those before. I also saw giant £39.99 bars of Toblerone on the cross-channel ferry by the way. They were too big to even pick up, never mind consume on a choppy sea crossing.

Comment: i found this bar quite nice but not as nice as i expected, i expected a toblerone without the stupid shape but it was more of an overpowering honey taste

Comment: you can really taste the honey but the nuts are really finely chopped, cheap effort at a toblerone but sweet cadbury aftertaste and a nice crunch! 61123 5 79
