Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Pringles Thai Sweet Chilli Flavour Confirmed sighting: Pringles Thai Sweet Chilli Flavour
Posted: 16:09 Thu 20-Oct-2005. Price: 2 for 1 . Location: Morrisons, Corby . Sub-flavours: Thai Green Curry Dippers. Nutritional unusualness: 554 kCal per 100g. Suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans.
"Flavour Monkey" reports: Following their Taste the World theme, and having got over the launch of the gimmicky Mini Pringles, they've added a couple of Thai style flavours to the range. The Thai Chilli is over sweet, with a bit of heat, nothing too way off the mark, but then this is what you'd expect for Pringles. The Pringles Dipper Thai Green Curry is the usual dipper shape, more scooped for loading with sour cream - and, with the light green curry flavour, you'd need a dip! It is very light in impact, a bit grilly and not much else.

..."Flavour Monkey" here confirms previous rumours, while "E.W." continues his meander through Kettle Chips' Seasonal Editions with the (Sainsbury's exclusive) Sour Cream, Lemon and Black Pepper he found in Mansfield, noting: Got these along with Sweet Red Pepper and Sun Dried Tomato (review coming) in a "2 For 2" deal to test them out. I found these quite intresting, a nice whiff of lemon was welcome as I opened the bag. The lemon flavour was spot on and brought out the taste of sour cream. The pepper gave it a great kick (which is even stronger when you get to the powdery residue at the bottom). Overall, these crisps were quite original in my opnion, I found the taste was fine. I think I'll share the bag next time though...

Comment: I'm glad to see Kettle Chips bringing back their classic Sour Cream, Lemon & Black Pepper variety. This is now the third time around for this all-time classic flavour. It constantly tops the popularity polls they have on their own website, and I've yet to meet anyone with a bad word to say about these crisps. You get something for everyone in these crisps - the smoothness of the sour cream, followed by the tang of real lemon, topped off by the subtle heat of the black pepper.

Comment: These were without doubt the worst tasting crisps ever. After eating the walkers sensations thai chilli, i was expecting great things. I had to throw the whole tube away!
