Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Moo Toffee Banoffee flavour milk drink Confirmed sighting: Moo Toffee Banoffee flavour milk drink
Posted: 12:44 Wed 26-Oct-2005. Price: 89p for 3 cartons. Location: Morrisons, Leeds. Sub-flavours: Strawberry Ripple (and possibly Banana Split). Nutritional unusualness: "Every moo-shake contains 31% RDA calcium, 80% RDA Vitamin B12".
"Phillerena" reports: The Toffee Banoffee flavour caught my eye mainly, and their phrase "It's udderly mootritious". These contain no added sugar so they are supposedly "healthy" milk drinks. The taste is quite pleasant, and tastes of what it's supposed to. Nothing fantastic though. They seem to be following in the footsteps (or should that be "moosteps"?) of Innocent Smoothies, with such words as "Moo cows really live the good life - munching lush grass and just mooching about - it all means their milk tastes ace!" and they have gone so far as to label the nutrition table as "Mootrition". They even say "...keep refrigerated and drink up within 3 days (as if it's going to last that long!)" So these guys are really bigging themselves up. For more info you can "say hello to our herd at http://www.moomilk.co.uk"

......where there's currently no mention of these latest additions to Moo's long-life UHT range (though Snackspot's previous warnings about Googling for the phrase moo milk still apply). Also perhaps not going off as quickly as ordinary "cow juice" are the odd-tasting Soya and Fruit variants of dairy-free Alpro (in "Tropical" or "Orchard", around 1.29), and TV-advertised "So good the [strawberry] cows want it back" Cravendale Hint Of (Vanilla or Wild Strawberry, 72p/ litre) - whose mild strawberry taste admittedly helped cover up the flavour of having been milked from robot cows in the Tetrapak that I had.

Comment: This is a excellent milkshake. I tried the "Banoffee" flavored one and was impressed. A little disappointed at the size (200ml). As a milkshake fan, I am currently trying and testing all sorts of Milkshakes in the vein attempt to replace ASDA's (limited edition) "Popcorn" Milkshake, which now seems to have been discontinued :-(
