Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Jack Link's Beef Steak Nuggets Confirmed sighting: Jack Link's Beef Steak Nuggets
Posted: 14:55 Tue 08-Nov-2005. Price: 1.19 for 25g. Location: BP Garage, Sonning Cutting. Nutritional unusualness: Halal, inedible oxygen scavenger included.
"Luncheon Voucher" reports: Would jerky by any other name taste as chewy? Not a lot of bang for your buck but if you're looking for dehydrated beef that tasks remarkably like sticky BBQ ribs, then you're in luck. Though why they're rebranded for the UK market I don't know...

...and I'm not entirely sure what "Luncheon Voucher" meant by that last comment, as the company's Beef Steak Nuggets also appear to be available in the US, albeit in different packaging (perhaps they don't come with the free DVD of "Inedible Oxygen Scavenger" that he mentions - to the disappointment of fans of this animated Japanese giant-robot classic). Anyway, in other meaty matters: I trust you've all been enjoying More4's recent Daily Show coverage of Hufu - a form of tofu "designed to resemble [...] the taste and texture of human flesh"; the poultry industry maintains that cooked chicken and eggs remain safe to eat (apart from indirectly supporting intensive battery-farming conditions where contagious diseases thrive, of course); and Ginsters has unleashed two filled Wraps, two Panini Rolls and two Hot Rolls for people who buy fewer sandwiches in the winter (all 2.99).

Comment: Ah, couldn't view the offensively flash heavy website at the time. I notice they've removed the meaty money^Wproduct shot from our packaging. Where, indeed, is the beef?

Comment: Yeh, the honourable L. Voucher seems to be confused. We in the US do have the Beef Steak Nuggets (which are a bit chunkier and moister) as well as the standard Jack Link Jerky (which is flatter and drier). And both come with the same free Scavenger DVD here- although it appears to be coded for the wrong region, as it doesn't work in my player. 12723 4
