Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Pepsi Max Punch Confirmed sighting: Pepsi Max Punch
Posted: 19:13 Thu 24-Nov-2005. Price: 67p. Location: Kwik Save. Nutritional unusualness: "Maximum taste - no sugar".
"Magnetic Ham Sandwich" reports: Most definitely not an official sighting, but the new limited edition Christmas flavour of Pepsi Max is out. Pepsi Max Punch with Cinnamon and Ginger is on offer right now at Kwik-Save for just 67p per 2 litre bottle. I'll leave the "official" spot to those with more of an interest in fizzy drinks, but here's a scan of the label if you need one.

..."MHS" pretty much completes our coverage of the UK's very own Holiday Spice Pepsi, previously described here as "ace", a "a lovely deep red colour when held up to the light", and "it foams orange!". While, in other seasonal sodas: Shloer are doing a Red Grape, Elderberry and Clove limited edition (both Pimm's and Del Monte are bringing back their special "Winter" products from last year); Vimto are launching Unwind (with "extracts of chamomile and passiflora") and Uplift (with guarana and ginseng) versions of their ailing Indigo energy drink, in addition to a "hot or cold" Belgravia and Tobago Spiced Winter Fruit Cordial (around 2.19/ 750ml); plus annual pranksters Jones Soda are celebrating Thanksgiving with their widest flavour selection yet, including Turkey and Gravy, Brussels Sprout with Prosciutto, Smoked Salmon Pate, Corn on the Cob, and Pecan Pie.

Comment: Jones Soda are taking the mick, i'm the kind of person who will try really strange flavours or makes of stuff e.g. Party Cake Panda Pop and Parsnip Crisps but who would want a brussel sprout soft drink. I'd maybe try the cranberry sauce one cause that might taste like cranberry juice or maybe the pecan pie one cause it's a pudding with a sweet flavour that might work in a novelty drink. But seriously, Turkey and Gravy, Salmon Pate?!!!!!!!!!!!! They're one hell of a prank pulling company, hats off to them for been original (even if not in a good way!)

Comment: I'm enjoying these reviews of how awful the Jones Sodas taste: http://sodablogs.blogspot.com/2005/10/jones-holiday-soda-2005-hits-stores.html

"Brussel Sprouts Soda: The smell is similar to what happens when you don't take your trash out, like mold. The taste is probably what would happen if you tried drinking the condensation that built up at the bottom of the bag. It's really that gross. Really salty tasting too. Definitely the worst product I've ever had. 0/10"

Comment: Spotted this odd, Christmas-tinged, variety today. It's regular Pepsi Max but with added cinnamon and ginger for the baby Jesus. Its colour resembles Shandy Bass and there's barely any difference in initial flavour over regular Max, however it does involve a more spiced aftertaste. Hardly worth the effort really, it's not like they've pushed the boat out with the bottle design, but worth a try if you're bored of your current fizz. Bon Noel.

Comment: I had a 6 pack last week too from Poundland. Didnt think much of them - couldnt really taste the spices flavour, although the pepsi had a suspicious red colour.
