Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Nestle Kit Kat Editions Tiramisu Confirmed sighting: Nestle Kit Kat Editions Tiramisu
Posted: 16:21 Mon 02-Jan-2006. Price: 45p. Location: Spar, Sherburn In Elmet. Nutritional unusualness: Contains Marsala wine and Mascarpone cheese powder.
"Phillerena" reports: This was a nice surprise, Kitkat Editions have also updated their packaging to make it stand out more, the word "editions" is now much larger and bolder. Of course it tastes nowhere near as nice as the tiramisu looks on the wrapper, but it was a nice change for a Kitkat. The filling is a creamy white colour and has a slight creamy coffee flavour. Worth a try I would say if you like coffee flavoured chocolates.

...Only one day into the New Year, and the Kit Kat onslaught continues, in the form of this latest addition to the ongoing argument for an official UK Tiramisu Marketing Board. Thanks also to "Ben L" for supplying Snackspot with a Canadian Banana Kit Kat (described by my test panel as "authentically recreating the great taste of popular children's antibiotic, Amoxycillin") - while, in other Nestle internationalisation, Junk Food Blog has the latest on the Japanese Kit Kat Wine ("contains 0.12% alcohol by volume") and Kit Kat Noir ("Roast cocoa beans are used to produce a bitter flavor and scent [...] filled with an almond and hazelnut cream"), neither quite as alarming as Fuschia Faeryland's account of South African Creme Soda Nesquik, which is apparently coloured bright green.

Comment: These Kitkat Editions are really nice, but I think the prices are an absolute ripoff for the size they are. I once bought one for about 20p when the other flavours were 45p. Then a week later, that flavour was 45p as well. They should bring the price down in line with the normal kitkats.

Comment: Its because these are a new product and are harder to make, they need to make profit. Bars like Mars and Kitkat and Dairy Milk can stay so low because so many people buy them, they make tons of money, hence why they can afford to sell them for less than newer bars such as this.

Comment: Bought one last night, but as I was under the influence of an extremely large Drambuie*, I can't comment too much on the flavour :-) But there seemed to be a disproportionate ratio of chocolate to wafer. And as I don't like wafer, this was a good thing. (* which I only had because it was 'there' and 'free' :-)

Comment: Bought one today in my local Woolworths. It tastes OK but not as good as the earlier flavours and I doubt anything can top the Caramel ones!!!

Comment: The filling in these bars looks disturbingly similar to manjuice.

Comment: apart from looking like 'munk' as mentioned in the previous post - it has that enigmatic taste bordering between the distaste to the pleasant. I've had three now and still can't decide...

Comment: I know what you mean Drydo..my first 2 bars tasted a bit plain to me but the last one I had was rather tasty.

Comment: these tiramisu kk are utterly delicious - slightly dubious creamy gunk consistency but close your eyes and the taste is exquisite. Get them at the gate at newcastle airport, perfect for a long flight

Comment: Spotted another variant of kit kat in Val D'Isere Spar in France. BALLS of Kit Kat! They looked like maltesers but had the wafer biscuit inside. Didn't buy as they cost nearly a euro for a small bag.

Comment: The packaging for the Kit Kat Editions Golden Caramel has now been updated to look the same as the Tiramisu bar. I saw some in Woolworths on Saturday. Also the word Golden has been dropped from the title by the way.

Comment: Tiramisu Kitkat must be selling very well because there were NONE LEFT in Woolies today...only the caramel ones were left. Also I note that Tiramisu costs 45p and caramel costs 47p - whats that all about?!
