Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Nestle Kit Kat Chunky Peanut Butter Confirmed sighting: Nestle Kit Kat Chunky Peanut Butter
Posted: 13:13 Thu 16-Feb-2006. Price: 52p. Location: Heathrow Airport. Nutritional unusualness: None noted.
"be" reports: Spotted in Heathrow Airport where they were doing a lot of advertising around the product and giving out lots of free samples. I was starving and in real need of a sugar rush so it was lovely. Otherwise, you may find the full bar a little sickening. It's similar to a normal Kit Kat Chunky with a layer of smooth peanut butter on top of the wafer. It's a pity it tastes like the American Peanut Butter, rather than our SunPat Chunky version!

..."be" here confirms the portents from earlier in the week, while "Ian" located the (slightly more elusive - and expensive?) companion to Lemon and Lime Jaffa Cakes - McVitie's Jaffa Cakes Blackcurrant going for 70p per packet of 12 ("5.83p per cake") in Sainsbury's, Welwyn Garden City, declaring them: Nicer than the Lemon and Lime ones - I should know, 'cos I bought both at once, though I think he's referring to the Lemon and Lime variety when he adds: Bizarrely the "jelly" bit (the "jaffa orangey bit" in traditional Jaffa Cakes) is still a dark colour, don't know, but I was expecting the colour of the packet for these...

Comment: As far as I can remember it's 270 calories per bar, but that's for the Canadian ones I got from a pound shop in Peckham. I ate two and felt bad.
Posted: 18:41 Thu 16-Feb-2006 by "charl" # permalink comment
Comment: whoa, we have overlapping names. 270 is still less than a mars bar, so i guess it's not total cardiac death!

Comment: Provided you're not allergic ;-) Bit pricey at the airport isn't it, 52p for a chunky bar, scary. Couldn't they do duty free ;-)

Comment: This is by far my favorite Kitkat. Peanut butter - genius. I actually found them on a recent trip to Amsterdam and have eagerly awaiting their appearance in the UK (I did buy a few over there but ate most of them on the journey back home) ....Though has anyone seen them anywhere other than Heathrow Airport? This is a bit of a trek from Leeds.

Comment: Ive tried peanut butter Twix...it was very odd. Ive also tried peanut butter M&M's. The problem with them to me is that they dont seem to really fit with chocolate, peanut butter tastes more savoury than sweet.

Comment: I had my 44th Chunky Peanut Kit-Kat this morning and I still liked it! 'Mamsie and 'Bi'l'ly 'B'ob' likes them too! It's a shame to see so many people don't like them.

Comment: Peanut butter kitkats rock!! I think we need more peanuts in chocolate bars. Just my own opinion. I love Snickers, Picnics and anything by Reese's! Plus everyone in my house dislikes peanut butter, so I can leave them in my fridge without a worry! If you don't like them, fair enough... all the more for me ;) Long live the peanut butter trend!
