Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Cadbury Banoffee Pie flavour biscuits Confirmed sighting: Cadbury Banoffee Pie flavour biscuits
Posted: 20:48 Wed 15-Mar-2006. Price: £1.04. Location: Tesco, Crossgates. Sub-flavours: Chocolate Brownie flavour biscuits. Nutritional unusualness: Doesn't taste of banoffee.
"Phillerena" reports: What an utter waste of money. I should have known to tread carefully as Cadbury biscuits have never tasted great, but this has to be rip-off of the century. Obviously I expected these to taste of banana and toffee for that's what banoffee pie consists of, but they just taste like regular chocolate digestives with the faintest (and I really mean faintest) whiff of banana. They're so tasteless and bland that I want my money back. I also saw they had a chocolate brownie flavour, which looked like it was just a double chocolate digestive. I also saw McVitie's Chocolate Orange Hobnobs, how I wish I had bought those instead!

...Speaking of which, "Lem" claims to have located Jammie Dodger Outrageous Orange Flavour for "50-odd pence" in Tesco's ("Another variant on a normal theme which has caused division in the office. Some think 'it should taste of red', but I found they weren't too bad - a bit tangy and tasting like an orange fruit pastille..."), while "Targaff's" hunt for foreign Jaffas concluded (for now) with these Lu Pims Mousse Citron purchased for "$2 or so" in Albertsons, Seattle, WA, "next to the regular Jaffa-a-likes Pims during a recent trip to the US. The package promises a substantial lemony mousse filling, but as is often the case, the reality is a letdown and you only get a thin line of filling that's rather overwhelmed by the so-so dark chocolate topping. They're not that bad, but a bit more zestiness wouldn't have gone amiss."

Comment: Wish I'd read your post before I found these in Tesco. Absolutely negligible amount of flavour. No wonder there's an recipe idea on the packet involving adding banana and toffee!!

Comment: Actually, I rather liked these biscuits. It's true that the taste of banana and toffee was not strong, but I could taste it and very pleasant it was too. The Cadbury's chocolate on top rounded off the biscuit nicely. I would, nay, I *will* buy these again.

Comment: Doesn't ring any ♫ to me.

Taste ok, but then, i've only just got them! - didn't know they were round until now. it says "NEW" on them. Maybe improved recipe?

Comment: I love them. In fact I'm eating one now, and it reminded me to come on here and see what everyone else thinks...

I love the taste, the banana flavour is prominent over the toffee one, but it's nice with the chocolate. The texture is nice too, has a real banoffee texture!

However, the brownie ones are awful. Bland and nasty, just a bourbon biscuit with chocolate on top... 73338 2

Comment: In reply to kelly; I think that Cadbury Banoffee Pie Biscuits have been discontinued now. The last time I saw them was when a few local supermarkets were selling them off for ridiculous prices (15 and 10 pence!). It's not such a loss as they were quite poor in terms of living upto the claim of being banoffee flavoured.

You're better off just eating a standard chocolate digestive and dipping it into a banana milkshake (this works surprisingly well if the milkshake is made with warm milk - as suggested on the packaging of Nesquick).
