Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Coke with Lime Confirmed sighting: Coke with Lime
Posted: 21:26 Thu 30-Mar-2006. Price: 0.87. Location: Mace Express, Northampton. Nutritional unusualness: 43kcal, 10.6g carbohydrates per 100ml + the usual Coke ingredients.
"Robbo" reports: Spotted this at Bestway cash and carry whilst getting some stuff for work. Bright green bottle stood out like a sore thumb. I've been waiting for this since trying it in Canada earlier this year. It's not bad, but it's not great either. The Lime taste is a bit weak for my liking. This will no way become a permanent line. Also I spotted Wrigley's Extra Fire and Airwaves Black Mint (I think that was the name). These are probably replacing Extra Mountain Frost and Airwaves Blackcurrant.

...And welcome to first-time spotter "Robbo" with this long-awaited "full fat" version of Diet Coke with Lime (though what's with the opaque bright green plastic bottle - it looks like something you'd buy at a garden centre). And, just to conclude a somewhat beverage-heavy week here at Snackspot - Coke with Lime does not count as one of your "five portions of fruit or vegetables per day", but I'm suprised that no-one's yet sent in Hero Fruit2Day (1.89/ 2 x 205ml bottles, Sainsbury, in Mango Peach, Strawberry Orange, or Pineapple Banana) which contains "the equivalent of two portions of fruit" (and more than 26g of sugar) per bottle, achieved by being a drink with (numerous) pieces of fruit floating in it, thus removing some of the social stigma of slurping tinned fruit direct from the can.

Comment: bought 12 cans of this in sainsbury's today, nice taste if you like lime or if the normal coke is too sugary as the lime flavour takes abit of the sweetness away.

Comment: i haven't tried this yet, but boy am i getting tired of all these citrus flavours from coca-cola, they DON'T work! they degrade the cola taste and the people behind the decision to axe vanilla coke should get the Alan Sugar treatment pronto

Comment: Vanilla coke was my favourite flavour. The lemon and lime flavours are WAY too weak. The cherry diet one is lovely though - the cans are on BOGOF at Morrisons right now.

Comment: "Coca-Cola is poised to introduce the first variant to its iconic Coke range for 22 years, with the launch of Coke Zero later this year."

Erm, yes. Apart from ALL THE OTHER ONES, of course.

Comment: Had Coke Zero while in the US recently. Fantastic, i dont like diet coke usually

Its effectively "Diet Coke" made with the fat coke recipe, so it tastes not unlike normal coke.

Comment: i have a can of coke zero at the back of the fridge and i forgot! as ian duncan says, i think coke zero is the pepsi max to diet coke's diet pepsi. personally i like the diet taste, so i hope it's not *too* successful...

Comment: My sister brought me a few cans of Coke Zero from the US a few months back...It wasn't bad, but i'm so used to the taste of Diet Coke, I wouldn't want to buy it on a regular basis.

Comment: Apparently, you "put the lime in the Coke you nut".

I spent most of the advert trying to work out where coconuts come into it, but they were one step ahead and provided subtitles to fully explain their hi-hi-hilarious play on words!

Comment: I wasn't impressed with Coke with Lime. It tasted too artificial, and as there's no mention of any lime in the ingredients, it probably is just chemicals. I'll just stick with normal Coke and perhaps add a slice of real lime (or lemon) when I can be bothered.

Comment: > It tasted too artificial, and as there's no mention of any lime in the ingredients, it probably is just chemicals.

As opposed to if it had actual lime in it... in which case, it would *still* be just chemicals.

What else do you think lime is made out of? Or, indeed, anything else in the world?

Comment: By the way, that Fruit2day stuff is possibly the worst drink ever. You can neither drink it because the chunks are too big, nor chew it because there is too much juice.

The whole consistency make it feel like you are eating sick.

Once you start thinking like that you have to chuck it.

Comment: That new tv advert for this crap is the lamest advert ever and shows just how much Coca-Cola have deteriorated, I've stopped buying all their varieties completely and I drink Pepsi now

Comment: I used to think that aswell until years of drinking Coca-Cola made me sick to high heaven of it, it's absolutely vile acidic crap, yuck yuck yuck, cool pepsi will do for me

Comment: It's seems like just another in a long list of marketing ploy's by the giants to keep someone who is trying to do something different (like brewing a cola) off the shelves
