Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Thorntons Individual Hazelnut Cakes Confirmed sighting: Thorntons Individual Hazelnut Cakes
Posted: 17:20 Mon 24-Apr-2006. Price: 1.30/ pack of 5. Location: Dillons One Stop, West Yorkshire. Sub-flavours: Individual Toffee Cakes. Nutritional unusualness: Milk Chocolate 38% , Hazelnut Praline 13%, suitable for vegetarians, approx 13.7g sugar, 10.1g fat per cake.
"polarbear" reports: "Layers of moist chocolate flavour sponge and hazelnut praline, lavishly covered and decorated in Thorntons milk chocolate to create 5 truly heavenly cakes". Seen these in my local shop for a while and never tried them until today... Wow they're awesome, taste beautiful, they really are the high quality you'd expect from Thorntons, and far nicer than other brands, I'm going to be buying these beauties regularly from now on! (Have a picture of the packet but my computer's bluetooth isn't working - happy snacking!)

..."polarbear" takes a break from storming off in a huff to praise a product that I'm fairly certain has been around since this time last year, in its Individual Toffee Cakes form at least (and I hear good things about Thorntons ice-cream as well). While, in other potentially-crunchy chews: The Grocer announces that McVities are doing a Mars Muffin, Hazelnut Cadbury Snaps are being replaced with a Crunchie-style Caramel Crunch variety, and still no-one has sent in a proper sighting of McVitie's Chocolate Orange Hobnobs, if anyone has a spare moment during tomorrow's (internationally celebrated) Ben and Jerry's Free Cone Day.

Comment: Oh! Thankyou for including my sighting webmaster, These really exceed all expectations, I'm being totally honest when I say i've never tasted nicer or better quality cakes than these, Thorntons are an asset to this country, they excel in what they do and don't rip us off either, and I bet they could rival Belgium and Switzerlands' Finest Chocolatiers, once the word gets out about these, I think minirolls will start gathering dust on the shelves....

Comment: They do Caramel Shortcakes aswell! Oh yes i'll have to find me some of those, How can you not like hazelnuts?? does that mean you don't like praline or nutella?

Comment: Oh right, well you may like these philly, they only have a nice layer of hazelnut praline on top no chunks of hazelnuts, go on, give em a try! Kinder Buenos are simply delightful I love em!

Comment: Just bought another packet of these little wonders and I thought I'd add a second opinion, The cake inside the bar is actually very similar to a rich moist chocolate brownie so if you can imagine a nice chocolate brownie with a thick layer of hazelnut praline on top where you'd normally get chocolate fudge and then all covered in thorntons milk chocolate which is of course, no ordinary chocolate, and that's what you've got here, I also got a packet of the toffee cakes aswell and I'd say that they're very nice and rich, But I prefer the hazelnut ones
