Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Ferrero Tic Tac Tropical Twist Confirmed sighting: Ferrero Tic Tac Tropical Twist
Posted: 16:23 Tue 02-May-2006. Price: 49p. Location: Newsagents, 286 High Holborn, London; Greenock, Scotland. Nutritional unusualness: Powdered passion fruit juice and acerola cherry extract, 2 cal/drop, 100g = 102% RDA vitamin C.
"Olly" reports: Described on the back as "Passion Fruit Flavoured Drops with Natural Vitamin C", I'm surprised it doesn't count as a "Five a day" fruit/veg portion since you'd have to eat 5 packs to get your vitamin C RDA. If you're not prepared to polish your duodenum with so much carnauba wax you might savour more sparingly these stunning little shakers, which met with universal approval from my team of samplers. They taste like miniature cans of Lilt - and they don't mention being a Seasonal Edition so hopefully we will have them around for a while.

..."Olly" got in first with these latest "refreshing little lifts" (presumably replacing the Tic Tac Cinnamon (Limited Edition)/ Winter Warmers mentioned previously?), while "I can take a picture if you need one" tentatively offered first-time spotter "16g", going on to largely agree: They have a lingering taste that I quite like. They're not much of a breath freshener though!

Comment: they're okay. a bit of an odd choice when you think of all the flavours in the world tic tac haven't yet embraced though...

Comment: They're actually replacing the Orange Tic Tacs, not the Winter Warmer.

The Orange/Lime ones are still going though, obviously.

Comment: I often reminisce about the glory days of Tic-Tacs. Back in the 1970s my friend's dad always used to have huge glass bowls full of all the different flavours on his dining table. There were different colours/flavours available in those days too. White was mint, red was cinnamon, pale blue was aniseed, orange was orange, half light orange/half lime green was tangerine and lime, dark green was spearmint.

Somewhere in my collection I've got a half eaten pack of those giant Tic Tac Silvers. I bought them in Switzerland a few years ago. Every giant Tic Tac in the pack is individually wrapped in foil paper.

Comment: I'm Italian and I've never tasted some Tic Tacs flavours like aniseed or cherry...but I remember when I was a child we had strawberry Tic Tac in Italy, that were great!! Why aren't there any strawberry Tic Tacs now?! So at the moment my favourite flavour is orange...but still have to taste the new ones we got here in Italy: passion fruits, grapefruit, acerola!

Comment: i really didnt liek these, they are just passionfruit flavor tic tacs, in my eyes passionfruit has to be mixed with something else. although they have a nice fruity taste when you put them in your mouth, they leave a nasty after taste

Comment: These are absolutely gorgeous. Have got through oodles of packets of these over the last few months. Hopefully these will keep me going until the Winter Warmer Tic Tacs make a much anticipated return (well, I hope they do - I've only got one packet left!)
