Click pic to view comments - Semi-international sighting: Fanta Strawberry Semi-international sighting: Fanta Strawberry
Posted: 17:26 Tue 04-Jul-2006. Price: 50p. Location: Mubarak, Moss Side, Manchester. Nutritional unusualness: "Haven't a clue, couldn't read any of it".
"Targaff" reports: I spotted this sitting between the regular Fanta and the Fanta Fruit Twist - apparently it's imported, since everything on the can except the name was in Arabic; and frankly I'm glad it's only available in "select" outlets, because this virulently pink liquid - with little fizz and a taste that bears about as much resemblance to strawberries as the laughable pictures on the can - is probably best used as a coloured paint stripper. Ugh.

...To be fair, this looks like a much newer design compared to the Saudi Strawberry I spotted last year, so maybe they've "updated" the taste as well? Elsewhere, "Energy Drink Reviewer" paid $2 in a (presumably American) "gas station" for Jolt Energy Drink, gasping: Crazy looking bottle, it looks like a battery! Ton of sugar in the Jolt Energy drink - 27 grams per serving and there is three servings in the 23.5 ounce bottle. I tried the Jolt Red Energy drink. It tasted like a cherry soda but gives off a ton of energy... while "Phillerena" found more Fanta Blackcurrant in Poundzone, Leeds, quipping: Very similar to Vimto but with a stronger edge to it. Nothing special. The strangest thing about this is that it is bottled in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Egyptian Fanta? I'll have to give some to my mummy.

Comment: I agree with Polarbear(!) This would be good...I remember having Strawberryade from the Alpine Pop Lorry in the 80's...I'd need a Z variety though nowadays.

Comment: Friends, Romans, Countrymen!. I love you all like i do the fanta strawberry for i killed caesar to get to his secret safe where they are hid. I opened the safe and there they were. 60 alluminium cans of the finest Strawberry Fanta. I removed a can one by one opening the lid and shivering to the sound the fizz as the can cracked open. I guzzled the lot down and burped a total of 137 times and went to the loo a total of 45 times afterwards. The sweet taste of the Fanta Strawberry inspired me to create my own kind of soft drink. Smiffy Rola Cola. Each bottle containg 500ml of the finest rola cola. The fizz lasting a total of 5 minutes is a superb idea. These homemade colas should be hitting stores near you so you can FIZZ THE NIGHT AWAY.

Comment: Both Apple Splash and Zesty Berry have been discontinued. I really liked Zesty Berry Fanta and wish it was still on sale today :(. http://www.gmwa.org.uk/foodguide2/index.php?page=viewquestion&id=160 97187 43
