Click pic to view comments - International sighting: Nestle Kit Kat Cookie Dough International sighting: Nestle Kit Kat Cookie Dough
Posted: 17:22 Fri 27-Oct-2006. Price: $1.49. Location: Franklins, North Ryde, Sydney. Sub-flavours: Honeycomb. Nutritional unusualness: 27% cookie centre.
"Mark" reports: Yes, well. I'm thinking that in a well-lit office deep in the bowels of Nestle Australia, there are a group of lab-coated boffins with copious amounts of butcher's paper and whiteboards and plenty of time to brainstorm... because they just keep pumping out the KitKat varieties on an almost daily basis. The cookie dough variety is more of the same - nice thick coating of chocolate, the obligatory wafers, topped with a 4mm layer of gravel-textured paste masquerading as cookie dough and a layer of caramel. You can feel the texture of the dough on your teeth and and tongue, but buggered if I could taste it. Pretty average

......while I've now heard more about their most recent UK launch from a source at Nestle, who maintains: "KitKat 4F Dark is a different recipe to the 2 finger Dark. The current 2F Dark product uses a blended chocolate (milk and dark) - designed to appeal to adults and children. We know that children don't always like the taste of a full Dark chocolate. KitKat 4F Dark is aimed at adults and uses a pure dark chocolate. We've gone for a really quality chocolate with 52% cocoa solids to give a really premium KitKat taste with a bittersweet dark chocolate taste."

Comment: Having just moved to New Zealand, I kept meaning to send this one in. It's absolutely gorgeous. I love it way way way too much. I disagree, it does taste of cookie dough, although it doesn't taste of particuarly great dough. For a chocolate bar approximation, it's very good.

I would buy these from Cybercandy if they ever show up, my British brethern.

Comment: Cookie dough? Curses, no matter how unenthusiastic the review is, that still sounds good. The Japanese ones around at the moment are rubbish, strawberry and the vile Azuki beans AGAIN?! 3

Comment: I think the kit kat cookie dough is delicious - i had way too many, especially when they were on special at Coles!

Why do some people not like it? And it DOES taste like cookie dough! What do you think they put inside? 04

Comment: you're right - it doesn't taste like cookie dough. if you take cookie dough flavour as what americans perceive cookie dough to taste like... but its not bad, although i took two bites and gave the rest to my friend! yea, those japanese guys sure like weird flavours... like the cantaloupe flavour - that was weird, and relaly not that nice...

Comment: the Japanese ones, particularly green tea, are horrible. It's an aquired taste is suppose, and needs the Japanese pallet to appreciate. Steer clear unless worldly
