Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Nestle After Eight Bite Size Confirmed sighting: Nestle After Eight Bite Size
Posted: 20:33 Mon 29-Jan-2007. Price: 50p. Location: Small shop in walkway between Palisades and Bullring, Birmingham. Nutritional unusualness: "Mint Munchies made better" - with almost identical nutritional information, except for 0.3g more carbohydrate, 2 more kcal per 100g (ie 267 kcal per tube).
"Phill" reports: Looks like Mintolas have been renamed again. This time to After Eight Bite Size. They don't look any different but I'm sure the chocolate has changed as I don't remember them tasting as similar to After Eight thins as they do now. And "be" is even more baffled, begging: Please somebody explain these to me... exactly like Mint Munchies, so as they are both Nestle, what's the point?

...I must admit I was surprised as to how similar these are - the After Eight chocolate seemed a bit tastier, though the Mint Munchies had probably been on the shop shelf for several months more. Other recent Nestle revelations include Smarties Slices (Sainsbury's, 1.09 for 6) and Aero Double Chocolate Swirl (Sainsbury's, 1.39 for 4x 59g), while "Grace" paid 1.49 in Sheffield Woolworths for a share bag of Milk Chocolate Aero Bubbles, considering this to be: A bit on the expensive side. Very handy for when you need a chocolate fix but don't want to eat an entire Aero bar. Taste the same as Aero but lighter, what more can I say!

Comment: Aahh! Where did you hear about the Lion Bar being axed Phillerena? Hope not!

By the way, not sure if it is clear from the article on After Eight bitesize above, but these are REPLACING Mint Munchies. The Munchies, if still around, are being phased out: http://www.irn-talkingshop.co.uk/news/article.asp?news=Product&articleid=5073

Comment: Thanks Phillerena - an interesting article. I am sooo sick of hearing about obesity though. For god's sake - it is untrue that there are 'bad' foods and it is untrue that certain foods will make us obese. I don't see why the whole food industry should have to change in order to help people with their obesity - it's limiting choice for the rest of us! We're all perfectly capable of choosing what to eat, without certain foods being banned. Government intervention is going way too far...

Comment: Got to say, you all sound like greedy bastards. Chocolate fix? What's wrong with just having a drink or not scoffing chocolate at all? I like chocolate but won't go round thumping customers to make sure I get my fix real quick.

We don't eat chocolate all the time, we have lives FOR ''BEEPS'' SAKE! Sure I post the occasional joke or nonsense PATSY 2000 crap, but at the end of the day, this is serious discussion and we need less of you, Steve! LESS OF YOU! Rant over........
