Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Kellogg's Chocolate Wheats Confirmed sighting: Kellogg's Chocolate Wheats
Posted: 18:23 Fri 16-Feb-2007. Price: 2.19/ 500g. Location: Tesco, Cogan (South Wales). Sub-flavours: Frosted; Raisin. Nutritional unusualness: 207 kcal (14g sugar) per 40g serving (with 125ml of semi-skimmed milk).
"Rhoslyn" reports: I searched for this on the website but only found they were mentioned in passing along with another cereal. These really deserve a review of their own! I first discovered Frosted Wheats in my local Waitrose and was obsessed with them, but then on going to Tesco's one day and finding that they weren't there, I tried the chocolate version. I would strongly advise everyone to go out and buy these, I can't stop eating them! Not only do they fill you up like Shredded Wheat, but the wheat is flavoured with chocolate as well as mini chocolate chips inside! These are the reason I manage to drag myself out of bed in the morning! The only downside being, they don't come in a very big box, and I always finish them off within 3 go's instead of the recommended 12, oops...

...A wildly enthusiastic sighting here from first-time spotter "Rhoslyn" - and "Chocolate flavoured wheats with dark chocolate chips in the middle. Worth a try," "Robert" agreed. I thought I was getting as much fibre (and avoiding 40+ kcal a day) by sticking with Kellogg's Chocolate Bran Flakes, but then I noticed that the suggested serving on their box is only 30g (vs 40g for Chocolate Wheats), presumably on the grounds that no-one wants to eat more Bran Flakes than they have to, chocolate or otherwise?

Comment: I absolutely LOVE chocolate wheats but have been offended incredibly as the ingredients have now changed to include MILK! And I am vegan. This is SUCH a stupid decision and they've just alienated the vegan/lactose intolerant section of their customers. STUPID! Because I spend about £20 a WEEK on them! Busy writting a letter of complaint/suggestion, I urge other fans to do the same (even if you aren't vegan/lactose intolerant, but purely because it's morally wrong to add milk to this product). Ta :)

Comment: Um, it's a chocolate cereal. Both words imply association with milk, if you ask me.

Comment: These are great if you're on slimming world to get a chocolate fix. You can have a 28g portion as a healthy extra B. Quite a good breakfast if you add a banana and then have some bacon and eggs. All syn-free!

They dont even do them in any of my local supermarkets! I emailed Kelloggs and they have said they should still be on the shelf. Someone is buying them in bulk and selling them at extorionate prices!! There is this site you can buy them for more than you would pay in the supermarket. Its the only cereal that i actually eat. Comment: JACKPOT!

Kellogg's finally confessed that only CO-OP are ordering from them and it is down to individual store managers to stock the treat.

I cleaned my local CO-OP out of their last 5 boxes.

Comment: Help me....I have no life as I come on to this website 63 times a day for an update. I keep Choco Wheats in my shoes as I like them to be a little cheesy before I eat them. I bit like dairylea spread.

Comment: The co-op do them, I have everyone I know looking for them and my Mum found some yesterday in the Co-op in Amesbury, she bought me four boxes. Apperently only the co-op stock them now, so search for your nearest store and good luck.
