Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Starburst Choozers Confirmed sighting: Starburst Choozers
Posted: 14:08 Thu 24-May-2007. Price: 1.50 for 2 x 160g packs (1.39 each), or 45p for a roll. Location: Woolworths, East Kilbride. Nutritional unusualness: 395kcal per 100g.
There seems to be no end of Starburst products in the US (Starburst Retro sounds particularly mouth-watering), but here in the UK we have to scrape by with what "Zeddy" describes as: "Opal fruits with a liquid centre in raspberry and orange, pineapple and orange, or orange and mango flavours. Like Ralph Wiggum said to Lisa Simpson 'I choo-choo choose you!' Yeh, alright, pretty fruity and a nice liquid centre."

...In other fruity chewability: "They are square - look like tooty frooties but packet says 'jelly'. Distinct Chewitt logo. Didn't have time to take photo as newsagent packed!" gasped "geofflazy" regarding the (presumably now-discontinued) Chewits Fruities Jellybeans he glimpsed in "Leicester newsagent toen hall square"; I've heard that Wrigley's Airwaves Active and Extra Thin Ice may both be replaced by Strawberry or Watermelon flavoured Extras; and Cadbury's/ Maynards are heaping insult upon injury with the launch of Wine Gums Light, promising half the sugar and 30% fewer calories than the originals.

Comment: I bought a packet of these from a local Co-op and they're really fruity! The liquid isn't much in them, and a bit strange, but I love the flavour of them. The outer bit is the same as opal fruits, but they should release these flavours as normal sweets too! Very nice indeed!

Comment: These are super-nice, fruity and tangy. I hope they last longer than the usual Starburst spinoff crap.

Comment: Fine, as these do not contain gelatine. Unlike chewits, and unlike those wretched Kellogg's Frosted Wheats (aka Toppas).
