Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: Real McCoy's Limited Edition BBQ multipack Confirmed sighting: Real McCoy's Limited Edition BBQ multipack
Posted: 19:53 Thu 12-Jul-2007. Price: 1.34 for 6 bag multipack. Location: Tesco, Plymouth. Nutritional unusualness: 165 calories, 9.7g of fat per 32g bag.
"Magnetic Ham Sandwich" reports: Coming just in time for the wettest summer on record, McCoy's have launched their latest limited edition multipack of new flavours - and ironically this time it's the BBQ pack (Will this be the closest many of us will get to a real barbie this summer?) In the 6 bag multipack you get 2 each of Flame Grilled Burger, Chargrilled Chicken and Sizzling Sausage. These flavours are all fairly common recurring themes in Real McCoy's flavours down the years of course so there's nothing much here to get overly excited about - especially as they're all vegetarian friendly so there's no actual meat to savour in any of the bags. For the record, the flame grilled burger flavour tastes more oniony than anything else, the chargrilled chicken tastes much more chargrilled than chicken, and the sizzling sausage fails to sizzle. More disappointment in the crisp world. If only some manufacturer could come up with some truely original flavours once in a while...

...Cheers "MHS" - and while you're here, do you have a view on these McCoy's Specials Mature Cheddar and Onion Chutney, sold in Sainsbury's alongside a T-Bone Steak with Onions? Elsewhere, "Nick T" neglected to grab a pic of the Walkers Chilli and Lemon crisps (45p) he saw in Linden Driver Stores, Lutterworth, inquiring: Is this a test market? They were nice, but I can't see them being a long term bet - while presumably the citrus theme is confined to the name of Leicester's new, if annoyingly-misspelled, Orange Tree Crips.

Comment: Classic marketing cow poo! A meat flavoured all veggie product called Real McCoys!

Comment: The McCoys Cheddar & Onion Chutney flavour is nothing special. It's just like so many cheese & chutney flavours in the past, but with an onion aftertaste that sneaks up on you after about 5 crisps. Far better is one of the other new Real McCoys flavours, the Hot Jalapeño Peppers & Cheese Specials Tortillas.

Comment: I bought Real McCoy Crisps 'Sizzling Sausage' flavour. They were the best crisps I have ever tasted. I absolutely love them. I understand they were just a limited edition. I do hope they catch on and you keep making this flavour because it's the best flavour ever.
