Posted: 16:47 Tue 06-Nov-2007. Price: About 1.49/ standard 175g big bag. Location: Norwood Junction.
"AuntyBigBug" reports: Obviously the second flavour (with the Ham and Apple Chutney-type one pictured here) for Christmas this year, and has the gift-ribbon wrapping. Tasty enough with a slight sharpness (lemon is part of the seasoning), but the goats cheese flavour, while discernibly "goaty", is fairly subdued. Seems to be getting stronger the more of them I eat, but my first impression was that it was just posh cream cheesy/ sour cream and chive. Worth a try but nothing spectacular.

...On the other hand, if you're looking for a basic "Crunchy Cheese" flavour, both "Steve Owens" and "Chrissy R" sent in this very same picture which they claim to have snapped in either London or Edinburgh, announcing: "Twisties, the best selling snack in Australia, are now on sale in the UK. They are called Tastees in the UK and Twistees in the Far East, Australia and Malta. They are delicious. Baked not fried, rice not potatoes, Tastees do not contain wheat - http://www.tastees.info" Personally, I'm more intrigued by the Estrella Dill Chips which "David" reckons you can get for 1.39 "in any Ikea branch anywhere on the planet", admitting: "These are by no means a new product, but I was a little surprised not to see any mention of them on Snackspot. Crunchy crinkle crisps topped off with a delicious dill taste, this is definitely one of my favourite crisp flavours! (Top tip: fresh dill and butter adds that extra zing to real boiled potatoes as well!) Along with paprika, this is another 'euro-crisp' flavour that I absolutely love, so how come British crisp-makers rarely go for these? Come on and give it a go!"

Comment: Yup, I'm with David on the Estrella Dill Chips really delicious, pleasantly salty and herby. They do a lower-fat version and, while the flavour's the same, the texture's not really as nice. Butik Hemlängtan http://www.butik-hemlangtan.m.se/ sells a selection of the other Estrella flavours, like "Holiday" (sort of ranch with paprika) and "Grill" (basically onion, which wasn't particularly strong). The postage costs are pretty expensive (NB, sellers were very friendly and helpful and did all they could to keep the costs down it's more do do with Swedish postage policies. But if you're going to buy from them, plan to buy a load of Swedish goodies rather than just a few bags of crisps the more you buy, the better value the fixed postage rates are!)

Comment: Ham and Apple Chutney Sensations very nice indeed, much better than the Sausage and Herb limited edition of a few years back.

In full agreement on the Dill Chips too, well worth a visit to the Ikea food counter.

Comment: The Goats Cheese Sensations are already piled up at 2 for £1 in the local Poundland store. They're very cheesy if you like that sort of thing.

Comment: Estrella chips and other goodies available here too! http://www.totallyswedish.com/ By the way, my vote for worst limited edition Sensations was that roast ham with Christmassy spices they did a few years back. Unfortunately the clove seasoning was so strong we renamed it "Bacon & Dentist's" flavour.
