Click pic to view comments - Confirmed sighting: KP Hula Stars and Hoops Confirmed sighting: KP Hula Stars and Hoops
Posted: 20:34 Tue 20-Nov-2007. Price: 99p for 7. Location: Aldi, nationwide. Sub-flavours: Pigs In Blankets, or Original. Nutritional unusualness: "55% less saturated fat".
"Nick T" reports: Seasonal special flavour "Pigs In Blankets" has a fairly convincing but unremarkable sausagey tang. "Original" is as you'd imagine, though the new star shape has enough alarming tooth-crunchingness to have your dentist ordering gold hubcaps for his new Ferrari. And an even more stingy multipack serving than usual, at just 25 grammes: the day when bags only hold enough hoops to fit on the fingers of both hands is nearly here, folks.

..."Nick T" adds his analysis to that of the ever-prophetic "Magnetic Ham Sandwich" - while, in other crispy curiosity: "rob" claims to have paid "12 for 24 packs/ 52g per pack" for a bunch of Hot and Spicy flavours from seabrookscrisps.com seabrookcrisps.com, explaining: "I brought a box with 6 of each type: Oriental Peking Rib, 2 Chilli, Mustard and Wasabi for 12 and 5 delivery, they arrived in 3 days, I've not tried them yet though." According to "Jeff Kell", KP Rancheros "Can be still found in Southern Ireland, [and] recently surfaced in Belfast after many years, taste just as good as ever," but I kind of wonder how intensively "Gill" has been "Looking for Tyrrells crisps in Worcester Sauce and Sundried Tomato flavour - could you add it to your list of 'awaiting sightings' please? Perhaps someone will see it before me!"

Comment: O-kaaay! Weird goings on, but on my normal I.P address, my comment is not registered. Now this has happened all the time and I'm thinking, am I banned? If so, why? Please let me back, Sir Snackspot. I did no wrong. I am a funny guy, this site needs the clown. I'm asking for another chance. please? Thank you!

Comment: Pigs in Blankets Hula Hoops: OK, but nothing special. On the subject of Hula Hoops, the 'reduced fat' fad has really struck hard, with the previously crunchy, greasy, delicious Hoops now reduced to a 'size zero'. Discos nearly as bad. Let's hope than more favourites don't go the same way.

Comment: Just bought a box of crisps direct from Seabrook. Inside were several bags of wasabi flavour and a few mustard flavoured from their hot & spicy range. I'll be sending the lot back next week, because they are neither hot nor spicy. Thanks Seabrook, for a big box of disappointment!
